Abstract

The holding of regional head elections (pilkada) is actually an important part of Indonesian state life in the reform era. The implementation of regional elections aims to ensure that regional heads truly act on behalf of the people so that the election must be carried out by the people themselves through elections. Regional elections in Tebo Regency were held in 2017 and were followed by two pairs of regent candidates who fought to win the regional elections. This research uses qualitative research methods with observation, interview and documentation data collection techniques, while data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation and data verification. The results of the research show that there are 3 main factors that support the victory of candidate number 2 Sukandar and Syahlan, namely: the incumbent factor, the dynastic factor and also the ethnic factor. These three factors can give superior votes to candidate number 2 Sukandar and Syahlan and establish Sukandar and Syahlan as regent and deputy regent of Tebo Regency in 2017-2022. Based on the election results decided by the Tebo Regency KPU, the candidate pair number 2 Sukandar and Syahlan were elected as regent and deputy regent of Tebo, therefore it is very important to know what the main factors were that supported the victory of candidate pair number 2 Sukandar and Syahlan.
