Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbandingan sukrosa dan asam sitrat terhadap sifat fisik dan mekanik papan partikel serabut kelapa sawit. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan (100% : 0%, 75% : 25%, 50% : 50%, 25% : 75%, 0% : 100%) dan 4 ulangan sehingga memperoleh 20 satuan percobaan. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan uji fisik dan mekanik. Uji fisik yaitu kerapata, kadar air, daya serap air, dan pengembangan tebal. Uji mekanik yaitu modulus of repture dan modulus of elasticity. Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa sifat fisik dan mekanik papan partikel terbaik yang memenuhi standar SNI 03-2105-2006 yaitu pada perlakuan perbandingan sukrosa dan asam sitrat 75% : 25% yang menghasilkan nilai kerapatan 0,60 g/cm³, nilai kadar air 7,6335%, nilai daya serap air 74,44%, dan nilai pengembangan tebal 11,74%, sedangkan nilai MOE 1033,54 kgf/cm² dan MOR 8,03 kgf/cm² tidak memenuhi standar SNI 03-2105-2006. This study was conducted to determine the effect of the ratio of sucrose and citric acid on the physical and mechanical properties of palm oil fiber particleboard. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatment (100% : 0%, 75% : 25%, 50% : 50%, 25% : 75%, 0% : 100%) and 4 replicates to obtain 20 experimental units. In this study, physical and mechanical tests were carried out. Physical tests are density, water content, water absorption, and thickness expansion. Mechanical tests are modulus of repture and modulus of elasticity. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the best physical and mechanical properties of particleboard that meet the standards of SNI 03-2105-2006 are in the treatment of sucrose and citric acid ratio 75%: 25% which has a density of 0.60 g/cm³, water content of 7,6335%, water absorption of 74,44%, and thickness expansion of 11,74%. Meanwhile, the MOE of 1033,54 kgf/cm² and MOR of 8,03 kgf/cm² values does not meet the SNI 03-2105-2006 standard.
