Abstract

ABSTRAK Cabai merah (Capsicum annuum L.) adalah salah satu komoditas utama dalam pertanian hortikultura. Jenis tanaman ini termasuk dalam kategori tanaman yang tumbuh tegak, berperdu, dan memiliki nilai ekonomi yang lebih tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan Mengkaji pengaruh interaksi antara Tricho-Tithonia dan pupuk NPK serta mendapatkan dosis Tricho-Tithonia dan konsentrasi pupuk NPK terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil cabai merah (Capsicum annum L.). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan (Teaching and Research Farm) Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi, terletak di Desa Mendalo Indah, Kecamatan Jambi Luar Kota, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi, Provinsi Jambi dengan ketinggian tempat 35 mdpl. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK), yang terdiri dari dua faktor yaitu dosis Tricho-Tithonia (T) dan konsentrasi Pupuk NPK (16:16:16) (P). Faktor pertama adalah Dosis Tricho-Tithonia yang terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu, t1 : 0 ton ha-1 Tricho-Tithonia, t2 : 10 ton ha-1 Tricho-Tithonia, t3 : 20 ton ha-1 Tricho-Tithonia, dan t4 : 30 ton ha-1 Tricho-Tithonia. Faktor kedua adalah Konsentrasi Pupuk NPK yang terdiri dari 5 taraf yaitu, p1 : 0 g L-1 NPK, p2 : 0,5 g L-1 NPK, p3 : 1 g L-1 NPK, p4 : 1,5 g L-1 NPK, dan p5 : 2 g L-1 NPK. Setiap petakan ditanam cabai dengan jarak 50 cm x 50 cm, sehingga setiap petakan terdapat 8 tanaman dan setiap petakan diambil 4 tanaman secara acak sebagai tanaman sampel, sehingga jumlah tanaman sampel seluruhnya adalah 160 tanaman cabai merah. Variabel yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, tinggi dikotom, diameter batang, umur mulai berbunga, jumlah buah per tanaman, bobot buah per tanaman, panjang buah dan diameter buah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat interaksi antara berbagai pemberian Tricho-Tithonia dan berbagai pemberian pupuk NPK terhadap tinggi tanaman, umur mulai berbunga, jumlah buah per tanaman, bobot buah per tanaman, panjang buah dan diameter buah, namun tidak berpengaruh pada tinggi dikotom dan diameter batang pada tanaman cabai merah. Pemberian Tricho-Tithonia 30 ton ha-1 pada 100 % pupuk NPK menunjukkan pertumbuhan dan hasil terbaik pada tanaman cabai merah terhadap semua variabel penelitian dan tidak berbeda nyata dengan pemberian Tricho-Tithonia 30 ton ha-1 pada 75% pupuk NPK. Pemberian Tricho-Tithonia mampu mengurangi penggunaan pupuk NPK menjadi 75% dari dosis anjuran. Kata Kunci : Cabai merah, Tricho-Tithonia, NPK ABSTRACT Red chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is one of the main commodities in horticultural agriculture. This type of plant is included in the category of plants that grow upright, have shrubs, and have higher economic value. This research aims to examine the effect of the interaction between Tricho-Tithonia and NPK fertilizer and to obtain the dosage of Tricho-Tithonia and the concentration of NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of red chilies (Capsicum annum L.). This research was carried out at the Teaching and Research Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University, located in Mendalo Indah Village, Jambi Luar Kota District, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province at an altitude of 35 meters above sea level. The research design used in this study was a Randomized Group Design (RAK), which consisted of two factors, namely the dose of Tricho-Tithonia (T) and the concentration of NPK Fertilizer (16:16:16) (P). The first factor is the Tricho-Tithonia dosage which consists of 4 levels, namely, t1 : 0 tons ha-1 Tricho-Tithonia, t2 : 10 tons ha-1 Tricho-Tithonia, t3 : 20 tons ha-1 Tricho-Tithonia, and t4 : 30 tons ha-1 Tricho-Tithonia. The second factor is NPK Fertilizer Concentration which consists of 5 levels, namely, p1 : 0 g L-1 NPK, p2 : 0.5 g L-1 NPK, p3 : 1 g L-1 NPK, p4 : 1.5 g L- 1 NPK, and p5: 2 g L-1 NPK. Each plot of chili was planted at a distance of 50 cm x 50 cm, so that each plot contained 8 plants and 4 plants were taken randomly from each plot as sample plants, so that the total number of sample plants was 160 red chili plants. The variables observed were plant height, dichotomous height, stem diameter, age when flowering began, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit length and fruit diameter. The results of the research showed that there was an interaction between various Tricho-Tithonia applications and various NPK fertilizer applications on plant height, age at start of flowering, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit length and fruit diameter, but had no effect on dichotomous height and stem diameter. red chili plants. Giving Tricho-Tithonia 30 tons ha-1 on 100% NPK fertilizer showed the best growth and yield on red chili plants for all research variables and was not significantly different from giving Tricho-Tithonia 30 tons ha-1 on 75% NPK fertilizer. Providing Tricho-Tithonia can reduce the use of NPK fertilizer to 75% of the recommended dose. Keywords: Red chili, Tricho-Tithonia, NPK
