Abstract

The aim of this service is to provide understanding through socialization and training to the community of Bagan Pete sub-district about mitigating natural disasters, especially flood disasters. The target of this service is to be able to make partner communities more empowered in overcoming all disasters, especially floods, as a form of disaster mitigation to reduce wider risks that will occur. The methods used in this service are socialization, training and simulation. In the socialization method, training and simulation are carried out using several methods such as lecture, question and answer and discussion methods. The final hope of the results of this service is that First, the community can be more aware and responsive to disasters, Second, the participants can understand disaster strategies and mitigation when they occur and Third, an independent evacuation team can be formed, help with simple evacuation tools, and mediate so that there is attention from government in the future.
