Abstract

Latar belakang. Daun mangga (Mangifera indica L.) sering digunakan sebagai bahan makanan dan juga memiliki berbagai efek farmakologis, termasuk antiinflamasi, antioksidan, antibakteri, dan analgesic. Daun mangga mengandung metabolit sekunder seperti mangiferin, flavonoid, alkaloid, tanin, dan terpenoid. Senyawa-senyawa ini diyakini memiliki efektivitas dalam penyembuhan luka eksisi. Metode. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode yang bersifat eksperimental dengan menggunakan mencit putih Jantan sebagai hewan uji. Mencit ini dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok perlakuan yaitu, kontrol positif (povidone iodine), kontrol negatif (tanpa obat), kelompok infusa, dan kelompok fermentasi. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini meliputi penurunan luas luka eksisi, presentase kontraksi luka, serta pengamatan histologi yang meliputi kepadatan kolagen, fibroblast, dan ketebalan epitel. Hasil. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa infusa daun mangga memiliki kadar fenol total (4,74%) dan flavonoid total (2,662%) yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kadar fenol total (4,51%) dan flavonoid total (2,331%) pada fermentasi SCOBY infusa daun mangga. Infusa daun mangga dan fermentasi SCOBY infusa daun mangga memiliki aktivitas dalam penyembuhan luka eksisi. Kesimpulan. Infusa daun mangga memiliki efektivitas dalam penyembuhan luka eksisi lebih baik dibandingkan dengan fermentasi SCOBY infusa daun mangga berdasarkan parameter kontraksi luka dan histologi Kata kunci. Mango leaves (Mangifera indica L.) are commonly used as food ingredients and possess various pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, and analgesic properties. Mango leaves contain secondary metabolites such as mangiferin, flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and terpenoids. These compounds are believed to be effective in the healing of excision wounds. Method. This study employed an experimental method using male white mice as test subjects. The mice were divided into four treatment groups: positive control (povidone iodine), negative control (no medication), infusion group, and fermentation group. The parameters observed in this study included the reduction in excision wound area, percentage of wound contraction, and histological observations encompassing collagen density, fibroblast count, and epithelial thickness. Results. This study shows that mango leaf infusion has higher total phenol content (4.74%) and total flavonoid content (2.662%) compared to the total phenol content (4.51%) and total flavonoid content (2.331%) in SCOBY-fermented mango leaf infusion. Both the mango leaf infusion and SCOBY-fermented mango leaf infusion exhibit activity in the healing of excision wounds. Conclusion. Mango leaf infusion is more effective in healing excision wounds compared to SCOBY-fermented mango leaf infusion, based on wound contraction and histological parameters. Keywords.
