Abstract
ABSTRAK – Minyak atau lemak merupakan salah satu komponen yang terdapat pada biji pinang, minyak yang dapat diekstrak dari biji pinang sebanyak 12,84%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis pelarut terhadap karakteristik minyak biji pinang dan ampas yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 1 faktor perlakuan yaitu jenis pelarut dengan 3 Taraf perlakuan yaitu N-heksana, Etil Asetat, dan Petroleum Eter. Perlakuan diulang sebanyak 6 kali sehingga diperoleh 18 satuan percobaan. Analisa Data Menggunakan Anova (Analysis Of Variance) Apabila hasil berbeda nyata maka dilakukan uji lanjut dengan metode DNMRT (Duncan’s Multiple Range Test). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa jenis pelarut terhadap ekstraksi minyak biji pinang tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap rendemen minyak, kadar asam lemak bebas, bilangan peroksida, bilangan penyabunan minyak biji pinang, rendemen ampas, kadar tannin, dan flavonoid total ampas biji pinang tetapi berpengaruh nyata terhadap bobot jenis dan bilangan iod minyak biji pinang. Dengan nilai rendemen minyak 8,07-8,29%, bobot jenis 0,9306-0,9474 g/ml, kadar asam lemak bebas 1,89-2,12%, bilangan iod 9,23-13,12 mg/g, bilangan penyabunan 38,71- 47,04 mg KOH/gr, bilangan peroksida 27,62-29,35 mq/kg dan pada ampas yaitu rendemen ampas 92,38-93,63%, kadar tanin 266,64-325,47mg TAE/g dan total flavonoid 112,91-115,79mg QE/g. This research aimed to determine the effect of solvent type on the characteristics of areca nut oil and pulp produced. This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD) method consisting of 1 treatment factor, namely the type of solvent with 3 treatment levels, namely N-hexane, Ethyl Acetate, and Petroleum Ether. The treatment was repeated 6 times so that 18 experimental units were obtained. Data Analysis Using Anova (Analysis Of Variance) If the results are significantly different then further tests are carried out with the DNMRT (Duncan's Multiple Range Test) method. The results showed that the type of solvent for the extraction of areca nut oil had no significant effect on oil yield, free fatty acid content, peroxide number, saponification number of areca nut oil, pulp yield, tannin content, and total flavonoids of areca nut pulp but had a significant effect on specific gravity and iod number of areca nut oil. With oil yield values of 8.07-8.29%, specific gravity 0.9306-0.9474 g/ml, free fatty acid content 1.89-2.12%, iod number 9.23-13.12 mg/g, saponification number 38.71-47, 04 mg KOH/gr, peroxide number 27.62-29.35 mq/kg and in the pulp, namely pulp yield 92.38-93.63%, tannin content 266.64-325.47mg TAE/g and total flavonoids 112.91- 115.79mg QE/g.
