Abstract
Kata Kunci: Invigorasi, deteriorasi, air kelapa, benih padi ABSTARCT The use of low-quality seeds with low viability and vigor will result in low productivity. Efforts that can be made to improve seed quality from the aspect of low vigor caused by deterioration include the use of Invigoration treatments through priming/hormonal priming. The provision of young coconut water concentration and the duration of soaking are expected to improve the germination of rice seeds. (Oryza sativa L.). This research was conducted at the Seed Technology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University, located in Mendalo Indah Village, Jambi Luar Kota District, Muaro Jambi, from September to November. This research uses a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factorial factors. The first factor is the concentration of coconut water (k), which consists of 4 treatment levels: k0 = 0% (soaked in aquades water), k1 = 15%, k2 = 30%, k3 = 45%. The second factor is the soaking duration (p), which consists of 3 levels: p1 = 6 hours, p2 = 12 hours, p3 = 24 hours. The treatment was repeated 3 times, resulting in 36 treatment units using the UKDdp method. The observed variables are germination power, first count test, germination speed, germination uniformity, seed moisture content, percentage of non-germinated seeds, and dry weight of the seedlings. The research results show that invigorating rice seeds by soaking them in young coconut water can enhance the vigor and viability of rice seeds that have experienced deterioration, with the best concentration being 30% and the optimal soaking duration being 12 hours.
