Abstract

Kualitas telur puyuh mengacu pada dua standar ekterior maupun interior. Pengukuran kualitas telur eksterior ini penting dilakukan untuk mengetahui kualitas telur yang baik untuk ditetaskan maupun untuk dikonsumsi. Peningkatan kualitas dan produksi telur puyuh dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai cara termasuk memberikan feed additif probiotik pada pakan burung seperti probio_FM. Probio_FM merupakan probiotik cair yang mengandung beberapa spesies bakteri asam laktat yang merupakan hasil isolasi mikroba diambil dari saluran pencernaan itik kerinci. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Peternak Puyuh yang berlokasi Desa Lopak Aur, RT.06 Kecamatan Pemayung Kabupaten Batang Hari dan Laboratorium Dasar Terpadu Universitas Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan 200 ekor puyuh umur 6 minggu, yang dirancang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan yaitu P0 (pakan tanpa penambahan probio_FM), P1 ( pakan dengan penambahan 15 ml Probio_FM), P2 ( pakan dengan penambahan 30 ml Probio_FM ), P3 ( pakan dengan penambahan 45 ml Probio_FM ), P4 ( pakan dengan penambahan 60 ml Probio_FM ) dengan 4 ulangan. Peubah yang diamati yaitu konsumsi pakan, ketebalan kerabang, berat telur, dan indeks telur. Data yang diperoleh dihitung dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam apabila berbeda nyata akan di uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan probio_FM dalam pakan sampai 60 ml/kg berpengaruh nyata (P < 0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan dan indeks bentuk telur, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata ( P > 0,05) terhadap ketebalan kerabang dan berat telur. Hasil uji duncan memperlihatkan bahwa penambahan Probio_FM sampai 60 ml/kg pakan dapat secara nyata meningkatkan konsumsi pakan dan indeks bentuk telur tanpa mengakibatkan peningkatan ketebalan kerabang dan berat telur secara nyata. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan Probio_FM sampai 60 ml/kg pakan dapat dilakukan tanpa menurunkan kualitas ekterior telur puyuh yang dihasilkan. The quality of quail eggs refers to two exterior and interior standards. Measuring the quality of the exterior eggs is important to determine the quality of the eggs which are good for hatching and consumption. Increasing the quality and production of quail eggs can be done in various ways, including providing probiotic feed additives in bird feed such as probio_FM. Probio_FM is a liquid probiotic that contains several species of lactic acid bacteria which are the result of isolated microbes taken from the digestive tract of kerinci ducks. This research was carried out at a quail breeder located in Lopak Aur Village, RT.06 Pemayung District, Batang Hari Regency and the Integrated Basic Laboratory of Jambi University. This study used 200 quail aged 6 weeks, which were designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments, namely P0 (feed without the addition of Probio_FM), P1 (feed with the addition of 15 ml of Probio_FM), P2 (feed with the addition of 30 ml of Probio_FM) , P3 (feed with the addition of 45 ml Probio_FM), P4 (feed with the addition of 60 ml Probio_FM) with 4 repetitions. The variables observed were feed consumption, shell thickness, egg weight, and egg index. The data obtained is calculated and analyzed using analysis of variance. If they are significantly different, they will be tested by Duncan. The results showed that the addition of probio_FM in feed up to 60 ml/kg had a significant effect (P < 0.05) on feed consumption and egg shape index, but had no significant effect (P > 0.05) on shell thickness and egg weight. Duncan test results show that the addition of Probio_FM up to 60 ml/kg feed can significantly increase feed consumption and egg shape index without causing a significant increase in shell thickness and egg weight. From the research results it can be concluded that adding Probio_FM up to 60 ml/kg feed can be done without reducing the exterior quality of the quail eggs produced.
