Abstract
Abstrak : Cekungan Sumatera Selatan merupakan cekungan yang mengandung sumber daya batubara terbesar ke dua di Indonesia. Potensi ini membuka peluang sebagai sumber energi, salah satunya sebagai eksploitasi gas non-konvesional berupa gas metana pada lapisan batubara. Potensi Coalbeb Methane (CBM) sangat dikontrol oleh sistem cleat yang berkembang pada lapisan tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui karakteristik batubara, atribut cleat dan pendekatan nilai permeabilitasnya yang berpengaruh terhadap CBM. Berada di Formasi Muaraenim memiliki lapisan batubara yang tidak dalam, memiliki ketebalan cukup baik dan memiliki kualitas batubara yang memiliki potensi baik terhadap terbentuknya CBM. Analisis cleat menggunakan data yang diambil berupa data-data cleat melalui pengukuran langsung dipermukaan berupa data face cleat, butt cleat, orientasi cleat, spacing dan length. Atribut cleat menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap nilai permeabilitas dan memberikan gambaran bahwa potensi CBM semakin besar bila permeabilitas semakin besar. Kata Kunci: Batubara, Cleat, Coalbed Methane, Permeabilitas Abstract: The South Sumatra Basin is a basin that contains the second largest coal resources in Indonesia. This potential opens up opportunities as an energy source, one of which is the exploitation of non-conventional gas in the form of methane gas in coal seams. The potential of Coalbeb Methane (CBM) is closely controlled by the cleat system that develops in the layer. This research was conducted to determine the characteristics of coal, cleat attributes and the permeability value approach which influence CBM. Located in the Muaraenim Formation, it has coal seams that are not deep, have quite good thickness and have coal quality that has good potential for the formation of CBM. Cleat analysis uses data taken in the form of cleat data through direct measurements on the surface in the form of cleat face, cleat butt, cleat orientation, spacing and length data. Cleat attributes show a significant influence on the permeability value and illustrate that the CBM potential is greater the greater the permeability.
