Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor yang diduga berhubungan dengan petani tidak mengolah lahan tidur untuk usahatani padi sawah, (2) mendeskripsikan keputusan petani tidak mengolah lahan tidur untuk usahatani padi sawah, (3) mengetahui hubungan antara faktor-faktor yang berhubungan terhadap keputusan petani padi sawah tidak mengolah lahan tidur untuk usahatani padi sawah. Penelitian ini di lakukan pada bulan Mei sampai dengan bulan Juni 2024, di Desa Setiris Kecamatan Maro Sebo Kabupaten Muaro Jambi dengan jumlah responden yaitu sebanyak 71 orang anggota kelompok tani. Penelitian dilakukan sengaja (purposive). Data yang di gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah adalah analisis deskriptif dengan menggunakan tabel tabulasi frekuensi dan analisis uji Chi Square. Dari hasil uraian analisis dan pembahasan maka disimpulkan sebagai berikut (1) faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan keputusan petani tidak mengolah lahan tidur untuk usahatani padi sawah yaitu faktor biaya, faktor lingkungan fisik, dan faktor preferensi petani tergolong kategori tinggi, 29) keputusan petani tidak mengolah lahan tidur untuk usahatani padi sawah di Desa Setiris Kecamatan Maro Sebo Kabupaten Muaro Jambi tergolong tinggi (3) terdapat hubungan yang nyata antara faktor biaya, lingkungan fisik, dan preferensi petani dengan keputusan petani tidak mengolah lahan tidur untuk usahatani padi sawah. ABSTRACK This research aims to (1) describe the factors suspected to be related to farmers not cultivating idle land for rice farming, (2) describe the decisions made by farmers not to cultivate idle land for wet rice farming, and (3) investigate the relationship between the factors associated with farmers' decisions not to cultivate idle land for wet rice farming. The research was conducted from May to June 2024 in Setiris Village, Maro Sebo District, Muaro Jambi Regency, with a total of 71 respondents who are members of farmer groups. The study was conducted purposively. The data used in this research consists of primary and secondary data. The analysis method employed is descriptive analysis using frequency tabulation tables and Chi-Square testing. From the results of the analysis and discussion, the following conclusions can be drawn: (1) the factors related to the farmers' decision not to cultivate idle land for wet rice farming include cost factors, physical environmental factors, and farmers' preferences, which fall into a high category; (2) the decision of 2 farmers not to cultivate idle land for wet rice farming in Setiris Village, Maro Sebo District, Muaro Jambi Regency is categorized as high; and (3) there is a significant relationship between cost factors, physical environment, and farmers' preferences with the decision of farmers not to cultivate idle land for wet rice farming.
