Abstract

Mentimun merupakan tanaman yang termasuk kedalam jenis tanaman labu-labuan (Cucurbitaceae) yang dibudidayakan oleh petani sebagai usaha tani komersial, karena memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi dan sangat disukai oleh masyarakat. Produktivitas mentimun di Provinsi Jambi tergolong rendah jika dibandingkan dengan potensi hasil mentimun. Salah satu faktor yang menjadi kendala dalam budidaya mentimun adanya serangan hama lalat pengorok daun (Liriomyza spp.). Intensitas serangan lalat pengorok daun pada tanaman mentimun mencapai 22,42-24%. Komponen pengendalian hama yang bersifat ramah lingkungan dapat dilakukan dengan upaya konservasi musuh alami dengan pengelolaan habitat di dalam agroekosistem dengan cara pemanfaatan tumbuhan berbunga. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Hama Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi dan Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi pada bulan Maret 2023 sampai Juni 2023. Dua perlakuan yang dibandingkan pada penelitian ini yaitu monokultur mentimun dan mentimun + tumbuhan berbunga (Zinnia elegans dan Tagetes erecta). Variabel yang diamati meliputi jenis dan kelimpahan lalat pengorok daun, intensitas serangan, jenis dan kelimpahan musuh alami dan produksi mentimun. Data dari seluruh variabel yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji t, sedangkan data jenis dan kelimpahan musuh alami ditabulasi, dianalisis secara deskriptif dan statistik menggunakan Diversity Indeks (Shannon-Winner) dan Evennes Indeks. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan tumbuhan berbunga (Zinnia elegans dan Tagetes erecta) dapat menurunkan intensitas serangan lalat pengorok daun dan mampu meningkatkan kelimpahan musuh alami. Serta produksi mentimun lebih tinggi pada perlakuan mentimun + tumbuhan berbunga dibandingkan dengan perlakuan monokultur mentimun. Cucumber is a plant that belongs to the type of pumpkin plant (Cucurbitaceae) which is cultivated by farmers as a commercial farming business, because it has high economic value and is highly favored by the community. Cucumber productivity in Jambi Province is low when compared to the potential yield of cucumber. One of the factors that become an obstacle in cucumber cultivation is the attack of leafminer fly (Liriomyza spp.). The intensity of leaf-boring fly attack on cucumber plants reached 22.42-24%. Pest control components that are environmentally friendly can be done by conserving natural enemies with habitat management in the agroecosystem by utilizing flowering plants. This research was conducted at the Plant Pest Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University and the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University from March 2023 to June 2023. Two treatments were compared in this study, namely cucumber monoculture and cucumber + flowering plants (Zinnia elegans and Tagetes erecta). Variables observed included the type and abundance of leafminer flies, intensity of attack, type and abundance of natural enemies and cucumber production. Data from all variables obtained were analyzed using the t test, while data on the types and abundance of natural enemies were tabulated, analyzed descriptively and statistically using the Diversity Index (Shannon-Winner) and Evennes Index. The results showed that the presence of flowering plants (Zinnia elegans and Tagetes erecta) can reduce the intensity of leafminer fly attack and can increase the abundance of natural enemies. And cucumber production was higher in the cucumber + flowering plant treatment compared to the cucumber monoculture treatment.
