Abstract

ABSTRAK Sebaran pirit merupakan faktor utama dalam pengeloaan tanah gambut pada lahan budidaya. Pirit yang dangkal dapat menimbulkan masalah yang kompleks mengingat bahwa tanaman membutuhkan aerasi yang cukup sementara lapisan pirit harus tetap berada dalam kondisi yang tereduksi. Pengeloaan air di lahan gambut yang paling penting diperhatikan adalah tinggi muka air tanah. Tinggi muka air tanah (TMAT) harus tetap berada di kedalaman 40 cm di bawah permukaan tanah hingga tanaman tidak terlalu basah sehingga tanaman dapat tumbuh dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan sebaran kedalaman pirit di PTPN IV Unit Usaha Lagan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di PTPN IV Unit Usaha Lagan. Secara administrasi berada di desa Lagan Tengah, Desa Merbau, Desa Sungai Tawar, Kecamatan Geragai, dan Kecamatan Mendahara, Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur, Provinsi Jambi. Pemetaan sebaran kedalaman pirit dilaksanakan menggunakan Geostatistical Analyst metode kriging dan IDW (Inverse Distance Weighted). Data yang dibutuhkan dalam analisii sebaran kedalama pirit adalah Tinggi muka air tanah sesaat, kedalaman gambut, kematangan gambut dan nilai pH. Hasil analisis menggunakan geostatistical Analyst metode kriging dan IDW (Inverse Distance Weighted) akan menghasilkan luaran berbentuk peta sebaran kedalaman pirit, kedalaman gambut, kematangan gambut, tinggi muka air sesaat, sebaran nilai pH dan overlay TMAT dan pirit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tinggi mukai air tanah, kedalaman gambut, kematangan gambut dan pH tanah mempengaruhi sebaran kedalaman pirit. Tindakan mempertahankan tinggi muka air tanah dan saluran drainase tetap berada dalam kondisi stabil dapat mencegah teroksidasinya pirit pada mineral dibawah subtratum gambut. Kata Kunci: Pirit, Gambut, Geostatistical Analyst ABSTRACT The distribution of pyrite is the main factor in peatland management on cultivated land. Shallow pyrite can pose a complex problem given that plants need sufficient aeration while the pyrite layer must remain in a reduced condition. The most important water management in peatlands is the height of the groundwater table. The height of the groundwater table (TMAT) should remain at a depth of 40 cm below the ground surface until the plants are not too wet so that the plants can grow properly. The research was carried out at PTPN IV Lagan Business Unit. Administratively, it is located in the village of Lagan Tengah, Merbau Village, Sungai Tawar Village, Geragai District, and Mendahara District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province. The mapping of the distribution of pyrite depth was carried out using Geostatistical Analyst kriging method and IDW (Inverse Distance Weighted). This study aims to map the distribution of pyrite depth in PTPN IV Lagan Business Unit. The data needed in the analysis of pyrite depth distribution are instantaneous groundwater level, peat depth, peat maturity and pH value. The results of the analysis using the geostatistical Analyst kriging method and IDW (Inverse Distance Weighted) will produce outputs in the form of maps of pyrite depth distribution, peat depth, peat maturity, momentary water level height, pH value distribution and TMAT and pyrite overlays. The results of this study show that groundwater elevation, peat depth, peat maturity and soil pH affect the distribution of pyrite depth. Keeping the groundwater level and drainage channels in a stable condition can prevent the oxidation of pyrite in minerals under the peat subtratum. Keywords: Pyrite, Peat, Geostatistical Analyst
