Abstract
Penggunaan ransum dedak padi sampai 30% dapat mengatası biaya pakan komersil namun ketersediaan dedak padi sepanjang tahun berfluktuası. Kondisi ini disebabkan karena dedak padi pada musim panen padi cukup melimpah, sebaliknya pada musim kemarau berkurang selain itu kendala dedak padi sebagai bahan pakan ternak adalah kandungan nutrisi terutama serat kasar masih cukup tinggi yakni sebesar 26,41% dan protein kasar cukup rendah yakni sebesar 5,39%. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui rasio penggunaan protein ayam broiler yang mengkonsumsi tongkol jagung yang difermentasikan dengan Effective mikroorganism 4 (EM4) dalam ransum. Penelitian ini di laksanakan di Laboratorium Budidaya Ternak dan Hijauan dan Laboratorium Dasar dan Terpadu Universitas Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan 100 ekor ayam broiler umur 1 hari strain Ross, yang di rancang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan yaitu PO (pakan tanpa tongkol jagung fermentasi), P1 (Pakan yang mengandung 4% tongkol jagung fermentasi), P2 (pakan yang mengandung 8%tongkol jagung fermentasi, P3 (pakan yang mengandung 12% tongkol jagung fermentasi) dan 5 ulangan. Peubah yang diamati dalam penelitian ini meliputi pertambahan bobot badan, konsumsi ransum, konsumsi protein, dan rasio penggunan protein dengan menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA). Apabila terdapat pengaruh yang nyata dalam perlakuan maka akan dilanjutkan dengan uji Jarak Berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian tongkol jagung fermentasi dalam pakan sampai 12% berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum ayam broiler konsumsi protein dan rasio penggunan protein, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap pertambahan bobot badan ayam broiler penggunaan tongkol jagung fermentasi memberikan dampak yang karena pengunaan tongkol jagung fermentasi memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap palatabilitas ransum. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tongkol jagung fermentasi dengan menggunakan Effective mikroorganism 4 sebagai pengganti dedak dapat digunakan sebesar 66,6 % sedangkan dalam ransum sampai pada level 8% untuk memperbaiki rasio penggunaan protein pada ayam broiler Kata Kunci: Tongkol jagung fermentasi, Effective mikroorganism 4, ayam broiler, rasio penggunaan protein The use of rice bran rations up to 30% can overcome commercial feed costs, but the availability of rice bran throughout the year fluctuates. This condition is caused by the fact that rice bran is quite abundant during the rice harvest season, while in the dry season it decreases. In addition, the constraints of rice bran as a livestock feed ingredient are that the nutritional content, especially crude fiber, is still quite high, which is 26.41% and crude protein is quite low, which is 5.39%. This study aims to determine the ratio of protein use in broiler chickens that consume corn cobs fermented with Effective Microorganism 4 (EM4) in the ration. This study was conducted at the Animal and Forage Cultivation Laboratory and the Basic and Integrated Laboratory of Jambi University. This study used 100 1-day-old broiler chickens of the Ross strain, which were designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments, namely PO (feed without fermented corn cobs), P1 (feed containing 4% fermented corn cobs), P2 (feed containing 8% fermented corn cobs, P3 (feed containing 12% fermented corn cobs) and 5 replications. The variables observed in this study included body weight gain, ration consumption, protein consumption, and protein usage ratio using analysis of variance (ANOVA). If there is a significant effect in the treatment, it will be continued with the Duncan Multiple Range test. The results of this study indicate that the provision of fermented corn cobs in feed up to 12% has a significant effect (P <0.05) on broiler chicken ration consumption, protein consumption and protein usage ratio, but has no significant effect (P> 0.05) on broiler chicken body weight gain. The use of fermented corn cobs has an impact because the use of fermented corn cobs has a significant impact on the palatability of the ration. From the results of the study it can be concluded that fermented corn cobs using Effective microorganism 4 as a substitute for bran can be used by 66.6% while in the ration up to a level of 8% to improve the ratio of protein use in broiler chickens Keywords: Fermented corn cobs, Effective microorganism 4, broiler chickens, protein use ratio
