Abstract

ABSTRAK Kaliandra Merah (Calliandra calothyrsus Meissn) merupakan tanaman yang termasuk ke dalam famili leguminoceae. Kaliandra memiliki pertumbuhan yang cepat, pada umur 6 bulan tinggi mencapai 2.5-3.5m, dan pada tahun pertama tinggi mencapai 3-5m pada lahan yang memadai. Media tanam bibit yang banyak digunakan diantaranya adalah tanah ultisol yang umumnya peka memiliki pori aerasi dan indeks stabilitas rendah sehingga menyebabkan tanah mudah menjadi padat. Akibatnya pertumbuhan akar tanaman terhambat karena daya penetrasi akar ke dalam tanah menjadi berkurang. Pertumbuhan bibit kaliandra yang berkualitas di persemaian dipengaruhi oleh kesuburan tanah, dengan demikian perlu perlakuan tambahan agar terdapat unsur hara mencukupi untuk kaliandra. Pemupukan bertujuan memperbaiki kesuburan tanah, Salah satu pupuk yang dapat digunakan adalah pupuk majemuk NPK. Pupuk majemuk (NPK) merupakan pupuk yang mengandung unsur hara lebih dari satu, serta salah satu pupuk anorganik yang dapat digunakan sangat efisien dalam meningkatkan ketersediaan unsur hara makro N, P, dan K. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 3 bulan di Laboratorium Budidaya Hutan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi dengan menggunakan metode RancanganAcak Lengkap (RAL) menggunakan 1 faktor yaitu pupuk NPK 15:15:15 Perlakuan yang diberikan antara lain p0 (tanpa perlakuan), p1 (NPK 1 gram) p2 (NPK 2 gram ), p3 (NPK 3 gram) dan p4 (NPK 4 gram), p5 (NPK 5 gram). Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali sehingga terdapat 30 bahan percobaan.Setiap satuan percobaan terdiri dari 6 tanaman sehingga digunakan 180 tanaman. Parameter pengamatan berupa pertambahan Tinggi, Diameter, Jumlah Daun, Berat Kering Akar, Berat Kering Tajuk. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian pupuk NPK berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kaliandra merah pada media ultisol yang terlihat pada semua variabel yang diamati yaitu pada pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman, diameter, jumlah daun, berat kering tajuk dan berat kering akar . Pemberian NPK dengan dosis tertentu tidak memberikan hasil optimal pada pertumbuhan bibit Kaliandra. Calliandra (Calliandra calothyrsus Meissn) is a plant that belongs to the leguminoceae family. Calliandra has fast growth, at the age of 6 months the height reaches 2.5-3.5m, and in the first year the height reaches 3-5m on adequate land. The seed planting media that is widely used includes ultisol soil which is generally sensitive to having aeration pores and a low stability index, causing the soil to easily become compacted. As a result, plant root growth is hampered because the root's penetration power into the soil is reduced. The growth of quality calliandra seedlings in the nursery is influenced by soil fertility, so additional treatment is needed so that there are sufficient nutrients for calliandra. Fertilization aims to improve soil fertility. One fertilizer that can be used is NPK compound fertilizer. Compound fertilizer (NPK) is a fertilizer that contains more than one nutrient element, and is an inorganic fertilizer that can be used very efficiently in increasing the availability of the macro nutrients N, P and K. This research was carried out for 3 months at the Forest Cultivation Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University using the Complete Random Design (RAL) method using 1 factor, namely NPK 15:15:15 fertilizer. Treatments given included p0 (no treatment), p1 (NPK 1 gram) p2 (NPK 2 grams), p3 (NPK 3 grams) and p4 (NPK 4 grams), p5 (NPK 5 grams). Each treatment was repeated 5 times so that there were 30 experimental materials. Each experimental unit consisted of 6 plants so that 180 plants were used. Observation parameters include increase in height, diameter, number of leaves, dry weight of roots, dry weight of shoots. Based on the results of the research carried out, it can be concluded that the application of NPK fertilizer has no significant effect on the growth of red calliandra seedlings on ultisol media which can be seen in all variables observed, namely the growth of plant height, diameter, number of leaves, crown dry weight and root dry weight. Giving NPK at a certain dose does not provide optimal results for the growth of Kaliandra seedlings.
