Abstract

Ultisol merupakan tanah yang memiliki pH rendah, bahan organik rendah dan nutrisi makro rendah serta memiliki ketersediaan P sangat rendah dan kandungan Al dan Fe tinggi. Tanaman tidak dapat menyerap P dalam bentuk terikat, pH Ultisol tergolong masam yang menyebabkan P bereaksi dengan ion Fe dan Al sehingga P menjadi terikat dan tidak tersedia di dalam tanah. Maka perlu dilakukan upaya penambahan bahan organik seperti kompos limbah pabrik kelapa sawit dan limbah ternak yang dapat membantu mengatasi masalah tanah Ultisol. Terung ungu merupakan tanaman sayur yang tergolong sering dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat Indonesia dan memiliki sejumlah mafaat bagi kesehatan sehingga upaya penyediaan media tanam yang baik perlu dilakukan agar terung ungu dapat tumbuh dengan baik dan dapat terus dibudidayakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kompos campuran limbah pabrik kelapa sawit dan limbah ternak terhadap pH dan P-tersedia Ultisol serta mempelajari pengaruh pemberian kompos campuran limbah pabrik kelapa sawit dan limbah ternak terhadap pertumbuhan terung ungu. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimen menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 7 perlakuan dan diulang sebanyak 3 kali, sehingga diperoleh 21 sampel tanah. Hasil analisis menunjukkan kompos limbah pabrik kelapa sawit dan limbah ternak mampu meningkatkan pH dan P-tersedia Ultisol serta pertumbuhan terung ungu dengan perlakuan 5 ton/ha dan mendapakan nilai peningkatan tertinggi pada perlakuan 30 ton/ha kompos dengan pH 6,63 tergolong netral dan P-Tersedia 19,54 ppm yang tergolong sangat tinggi. Begitu pula pada pertambahan tinggi tanaman memiliki nilai peningkatan tertinggi akibat pemberian kompos limbah pabrik kelapa sawit dan limbah ternak pada perlakuan tertinggi yaitu 30 ton/ha setara dengan dosis 259,11 g/polybag yaitu 54,53 cm. Ultisol is a soil that has a low pH, low organic matter and low macronutrients and has very low P availability and high Al and Fe content. Plants cannot absorb P in bound form, Ultisol pH is classified as acidic which causes P to react with Fe and Al ions that P becomes bound and unavailable in the soil. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to add organic materials such as palm oil mill waste compost and cow dung waste which can help overcome Ultisol soil problems. Purple eggplant is a vegetable plant that is often consumed by the Indonesian people and has health benefits so that efforts to provide good planting media need to be made so purple eggplant can grow well and can continue to be cultivated. This study aims to determine the effect of providing a mixture of palm oil mill waste and cow dung waste compost on the pH and available P of Ultisol and to study the effect o providing a mixture of palm oil mill waste and cow dung waste compost on the growth of purple eggplant. This study was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 7 treatments and repeated 3 times, so that 21 soil samples were obtained. The results of the analysis showed that compost of palm oil mill waste and cow dung waste were able to increase the pH and available P of Ultisol and the growth of purple eggplant with a treatment of 5 tons/ha and obtained the highest increase value in the treatment of 30 tons/ha of compost with a pH of 6.63 classified as neutral and available P 19.54 ppm which is classified as very high. Likewise, the increase in plant height had the highest increase value due to the provision of compost of palm oil mill waste and cow dung waste in the highest treatment, that is 30 tons/ha equivalent to a dose of 259.11 g/polybag with a height of 54.53 cm.
