Abstract

This thesis aims to analyze the Golkar Party's strategy in winning the 2024 Jambi City legislative election. The strategies used are offensive and defensive. As a large party, the Golkar Party is one of the major parties in Indonesia, as a large party, political strategies must also be implemented properly and correctly. Without a good strategy, political parties may find it difficult to compete with other parties and achieve their goals. So, strategy is the key to success in politics. The purpose of this study is to analyze the Golkar Party's strategy as the winning party in the 2024 Jambi City legislative election. The research method used in this study is qualitative with the type of field research, data collection techniques used in this study are semi-structured direct interviews, non-participatory observation, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are that the Golkar Party succeeded in winning the 2024 Jambi City legislative election through a combination of comprehensive offensive and defensive strategies. Offensive strategies include open campaigns, use of social media, political marketing, and the formation of strategic coalitions. Meanwhile, defensive strategies include door-to-door visits, closed dialogues with community groups, and social programs to maintain voter loyalty. The party also implemented a "1 cadre 10 voters" system and optimized the role of party wings such as AMPG and KPPG. The winning team prepared trained witnesses at each TPS and formed a real count monitoring team that worked 24 hours. Leading programs such as MSME capital assistance, education scholarships, and skills training received a positive response from the community. Keywords: Strategy, Political Parties, Golongan Karya.
