Abstract
ABSTRAK Usaha ternak sapi potong memiliki peran strategis dalam mendukung perekonomian masyarakat, khususnya di wilayah pedesaan di Indonesia. Sebagai salah satu sumber utama protein hewani, daging sapi memiliki permintaan yang terus meningkat seiring dengan pertumbuhan jumlah penduduk dan meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya konsumsi protein hewani. Peningkatan permintaan terhadap daging sapi ini turut mendorong perkembangan usaha ternak sapi potong, terutama di kalangan peternak sebagai produsen utama. Keberlanjutan dan pertumbuhan usaha ternak di tingkat peternak sangat dipengaruhi oleh besarnya keuntungan yang diperoleh dari kegiatan usahanya. Selanjutnya, tingkat keuntungan tersebut ditentukan oleh berbagai faktor, antara lain faktor ekonomi maupun sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat keuntungan usaha ternak sapi potong serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi besarnya keuntungan usaha ternak sapi di Kecamatan Sungai Bahar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan survei, dengan data yang dikumpulkan berupa data primer dan sekunder. Penentuan lokasi desa penelitian dilakukan secara purposive sampling, sedangkan pemilihan responden dilakukan secara acak (random sampling), dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 40 peternak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ratarata keuntungan usaha ternak sapi potong sebesar Rp.7.160.045,- /peternak/tahun dan besarnya nilai R/C ratio dari usaha peternakan sapi potong di Kecamatan Sungai Bahar adalah sebesar 1,349, yang menunjukkan usaha ini secara finansial menguntungkan. Biaya produksi terbesar berasal dari pembelian bibit sapi (85,18%), diikuti oleh biaya BBM untuk mencari pakan hijauan (8,45%). Faktor yang secara signifikan memengaruhi keuntungan usaha ternak sapi adalah: harga pakan hijauan. Harga pakan hijauan berpengaruh negatif terhadap keuntungan, yang berarti peningkatan harga pakan hijauan akan menurunkan keuntungan usaha ternak sapi. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi nilai R/C ratio (revenue cost ratio) adalah: harga pakan hijauan dan harga jual. Harga pakan hijauan berpengaruh negatif terhadap tingkat kelayakan usaha ternak, sedangkan harga jual berpengaruh positif terhadap tingkat kelayakan usaha ternak sapi di kecamatan Sungai Bahar. Kata Kunci : usaha ternak, sapi, keuntungan, revenue-cost ratio. ABSTRACT Beef cattle farming has a strategic role in supporting the community's economy, especially in rural areas in Indonesia. As one of the main sources of animal protein, beef has a demand that continues to increase along with population growth and increasing public awareness of the importance of animal protein consumption. The increase in demand for beef has also encouraged the development of beef cattle farming, especially among farmers as the main producers. The sustainability and growth of livestock farming at the farmer level is greatly influenced by the amount of profit obtained from their business activities. Furthermore, the level of profit is determined by various factors, including economic and social factors. This study aims to analyze the level of profit of beef cattle farming and identify factors that influence the amount of profit of cattle farming in Sungai Bahar District. This study uses a survey approach, with data collected in the form of primary and secondary data. The determination of the location of the research village was carried out by purposive sampling, while the selection of respondents was carried out randomly, with a total of 40 farmers. The results of the study showed that the average profit of beef cattle farming business was Rp. 7,160,045,-/farmer/year and the value of the R/C ratio of beef cattle farming business in Sungai Bahar District was 1.349, which showed that this business was financially profitable. The largest production cost came from the purchase of cattle seeds (85.18%), followed by fuel costs to find green fodder (8.45%). Factors that significantly affect the profit of cattle farming business are: the price of green fodder. The price of green fodder has a negative effect on profit, which means that an increase in the price of green fodder will reduce the profit of cattle farming business. Factors that affect the value of the R/C ratio (revenue cost ratio) are: the price of green fodder and the selling price. The price of green fodder has a negative effect on the level of feasibility of cattle farming business, while the selling price has a positive effect on the level of feasibility of cattle farming business in Sungai Bahar District.
