Abstract
Setiap plot percobaan terdapat 3 tanaman sehingga terdapat 120 tanaman keseluruhan. However, challenges arise from the excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides, which increase heavy metal levels, such as cadmium (Cd), in the soil. The accumulation of cadmium negatively impacts the quality of crops, including coffee, as well as the environment. Phytoremediation offers an effective solution. This method utilizes hyperaccumulator plants, such as Jatropha (Jatropha curcas), which can absorb and reduce cadmium in the soil. Jatropha can survive in media with high heavy metal concentrations and forms symbiosis with mycorrhizae and biofertilizers, thus enhancing its absorption efficiency. By utilizing phytoremediation through Jatropha, contaminated coffee land can be rehabilitated, improving the quality of harvests and preserving environmental sustainability. The aim of this research is to study the interaction of the combination of the hyperaccumulator plant Jatropha (Jatropha curcas) with mycorrhizae that provides the best growth for Liberika Tungkal Komposit coffee seedlings (Coffea liberica Bull ex Hiern) on land contaminated with cadmium heavy metals. It also aims to examine the single factor of cadmium (C) and composition (K) that yields the best growth for coffee seedlings. This research will be conducted at the Teaching and Research Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University. The duration of the study will be 3 months, from June to October 2024. The research will use a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 treatment factors: factor C, where C1 = 10 ppm, C2 = 20 ppm, and factor K, where K0 = Coffee, K1 = Coffee + 1 Jatropha, K2 = Coffee + 2 Jatropha, K3 = Coffee + 3 Jatropha. Each treatment and its combinations will be repeated 5 times, resulting in 40 experimental units. Each experimental plot will contain 3 plants, totaling 120 plants overall, with 2 sample plants per experimental plot. The data obtained will be analyzed using ANOVA and BNT at 5%. Based on the research results, it shows that there is an interaction between cadmium treatment and the composition of coffee and Jatropha on the variables of total leaf area and percentage of mycorrhizal infection.
