Abstract

Salah satu jenis tanaman hutan yang tumbuh di daerah tropis, terutama di bagian timur Indonesia adalah jabon merah (Anthocephalus macrophyllus). Tanaman ini merupakan jenis pohon yang memiliki prospek tinggi untuk hutan tanaman industri maupun hutan rakyat. Tanaman ini tumbuh dengan cepat, mudah dikelola secara silvikultur. Tanaman ini juga memiliki kemampuan tumbuh baik di lahan-lahan dengan tingkat kesuburan tanah rendah sehingga menjadi pilihan yang baik untuk ditanam. Agar menghasilkan bibit jabon merah yang unggul, bagus dan mampu bertahan dengan baik maka harus memperhatikan media tanam dan pemupukan. Media tanam yang memiliki kualitas baik mampu menyediakan nutrisi, oksigen, dan kelembaban yang sesuai, sehingga baik untuk perkembangan akar tanaman, yang nantinya akan mempengaruhi pertumbuhan tanaman. Penelitian ini berlangsung selama 3 bulan di Laboratorium Silvikultur Prodi Kehutanan dan Pembibitan Jurusan Kehutanan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi. Metode yang digunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan dua faktor yaitu media tanam yang terdiri dari 3 taraf dan pupuk organik cair (POC) kulit pisang kepok yang terdiri dari 3 taraf sehingga didapatkan 9 kombinasi yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali sehingga terdapat 27 satuan percobaan. Setiap satuan percoban terdiri dari 4 bibit dan total yang dibutuhkan 108 bibit jabon merah. Variabel yang diamati yaitu pertambahan tinggi, pertambahan diameter, pertambahan jumlah daun, berat kering tajuk (BKT), berat kering akar (BKA), ratio pucuk akar. Data yang didapatkan dianalisis dengan sidik ragam (Anova) dan pada variabel yang berpengaruh nyata dilakukan uji beda rata-rata dengan menggunakan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) taraf ∝ 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan interaksi antara media tanam dan pemberian pupuk organik cair (POC) kulit pisang kepok tidak nyata terhadap pertambahan bibit jabon merah (Anthocephalus macrophyllus). Perlakuan media tanam m2 (top soil + cocopeat (2:1:)) merupakan perlakuan terbaik pada pertumbuhan bibit jabon merah dimana memberikan pengaruh terhadap variabel pertambahan tinggi. Perlakuan pemberian pupuk organik cair (POC) kulit pisang kepok dengan dosis 300 ml merupakan perlakuan yang direkomendasikan pada pertumbuhan bibit jabon merah yang memberikan pengaruh nyata pada variabel pertambahan tinggi, pertambahan diameter, dan berat kering tajuk. One type of forest plant that grows in tropical areas, especially in eastern Indonesia, is red jabon (Anthocephalus macrophyllus). This plant is a type of tree that has high prospects for industrial plantation forests and community forests. This plant grows quickly, is easy to manage silviculturally. This plant also has the ability to grow well in lands with low soil fertility levels, making it a good choice for planting. In order to produce superior, good and well-surviving red jabon seedlings, attention must be paid to the planting medium and fertilization. Planting media that has good quality is able to provide nutrients, oxygen, and appropriate humidity, so that it is good for the development of plant roots, which will later affect plant growth. This research took place for 3 months in the Silviculture Laboratory of the Forestry and Nursery Study Program, Forestry Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jambi. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors, namely planting media consisting of 3 levels and liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from kepok banana peels consisting of 3 levels so that 9 combinations were obtained which were repeated 3 times so that there were 27 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of 4 seedlings and a total of 108 red jabon (Anthocephalus macrophyllus) seedlings were needed. The variables observed were height increase, diameter increase, leaf number increase, dry weight of the crown (BKT), dry weight of the root (BKA), and root shoot ratio. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and for variables that had a significant effect, an average difference test was carried out using the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at a level of ∝ 5%. The results showed that the interaction between planting media and the provision of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from kepok banana peels was not significant on the increase in red jabon seedlings (Anthocephalus macrophyllus). The treatment of planting media m2 (topsoil + cocopeat (2:1:)) is the best treatment for the growth of red jabon seedlings which has an effect on the variable of height increase. The treatment of giving liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from kepok banana peel with a dose of 300 ml is the recommended treatment for the growth of red jabon seedlings which has a significant effect on the variables of height increase, diameter increase, and dry weight of the crown.
