Abstract

Kompos adalah hasil dari proses penguraian bahan-bahan organik, seperti sisa tanaman, daun kering, jerami, kotoran hewan, dan limbah dapur, oleh mikroorganisme dalam kondisi yang terkendali. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas kompos dengan penambahan level EM4 berbahan dasar feses kambing, ampas tebu, pelepah sawit, biochar, dedak, dan urea. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan empat ulangan, yaitu P0 = 50% feses kambing + 16% ampas tebu + 16% pelepah sawit + 14% biochar + 3% dedak + 1% urea, P1 = P0 + EM4 1%, P2 = P0 + EM4 2%, dan P3 = P0 + EM4 3%. Peubah yang diamati meliputi bentuk fisik kompos (warna, bau, dan tekstur), suhu, pH, penyusutan, serta kandungan unsur hara (C, N, P, K) dan rasio C/N. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kompos dengan EM4 berada dalam kategori baik, dengan 100% berwarna coklat kehitaman, berbau tanah, dan bertekstur remah. Suhu kompos tertinggi tercatat pada perlakuan P1 (40,9°C), sedangkan rataan penyusutan kompos adalah 22,15%. Analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa penambahan EM4 tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kandungan karbon tetapi berpengaruh sangat nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kandungan karbon tetapi berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kandungan Nitrogen P0 (1,06) berbeda dengan P1 (1,9), P2 (1,21), dan P3 (1,27). Fosfor P0(0,21) berbeda dengan P1 (0,74), P2 (0,58), dan P3 (0,55). Kalium P1 (2,04) berbeda dengan P2 (1,92), P3 (0,89), dan P0 (2,09). Serta rasio C/N pada setiap perlakukan berbeda. Kesimpulan dari peneitian pembuatan kompos berbahan dasar fases kambing, ampas tebu, pelepah sawit, biochar, dedak, dan urea semua perlakuan dikategorikan baik. dengan penambahan EM4 2% (P2) menghasilkan kualitas kompos terbaik, memenuhi standar SNI 19-7030-2004. Kata Kunci: EM4, Fases Kambing, Kompos, Unsur Hara This study aimed to evaluate the quality of compost produced using goat manure, sugarcane bagasse, oil palm fronds, biochar, rice bran, and urea with the addition of various levels of EM4. The research employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and four replications: P0 = 50% goat manure + 16% sugarcane bagasse + 16% oil palm fronds + 14% biochar + 3% rice bran + 1% urea, P1 = P0 + 1% EM4, P2 = P0 + 2% EM4, and P3 = P0 + 3% EM4. Observed variables included physical characteristics of compost (color, odor, and texture), temperature, pH, shrinkage, nutrient content (C, N, P, K), and C/N ratio. Results showed that compost with EM4 addition was of good quality, with 100% of the samples being dark brown, having an earthy smell, and a crumbly texture. The highest compost temperature was recorded in P1 (40.9°C), with an average shrinkage rate of 22.15%. Analysis of variance revealed that EM4 addition had no significant effect (P>0.05) on carbon content but had a highly significant effect (P<0.01) on nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium contents, and the C/N ratio. In conclusion, the addition of 3% EM4 (P3) to the compost mixture resulted in the best compost quality, meeting the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 19-7030-2004.
