Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas Tipologi Surau di Jorong Pariangan, Nagari Pariangan, Kabupaten Tanah Datar. Di Minangkabau surau berfungsi sebagai tempat ibadah, rumah tempat tinggal, dan sebagai tempat untuk berlangsunya berbagai macam proses kegiatan adat. Terdapat enam belas bangunan surau yang menjadi objek pada penelitian, dan surau-surau tersebut memiliki karakteristik yang cukup bervariasi. Sebelumnya, belum ada penelitian yang membahas secara detail mengenai tipologi surau tersebut. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini akan menjawab pertanyaan bagaimana Tipologi Surau di Jorong Pariangan, Nagari Pariangan, Kabupaten Tanah Datar. Data yang dikumpulkan berupa data arkeologi yang diperoleh melelui proses pengumpulan data yang terdiri dari data primer dan sekunder. Data primer merupakan hasil yang diperoleh dari observasi lapangan, wawancara, dan diskusi. Sementara data sekunder diperoleh dari studi pustaka, yang berupa jurnal, artikel, skripsi, dan arsip foto lama. Analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis morfologi dan analisis tipologi yang bertujuan untuk melihat dan mengelompokkan surau berdasarkan tipenya. Hasilnya, secara umum bangunan surau dapat di tipe kan melalui bentuk atapnya yaitu (a) surau beratap dua gonjong (b) surau beratap tiga gonjong (c) surau beratap empat gonjong (d) surau beratap limas dan (e) surau beratap datar. Kata kunci : surau, tipologi, Pariangan, Minangkabau, Kabupaten Tanah Datar This study discusses the Typology of Surau in Jorong Pariangan, Nagari Pariangan, Tanah Datar Regency. In Minangkabau, surau functions as a place of worship, a house to live in, and as a place for various customary activities to take place. There are sixteen surau buildings that are the objects of the study, and these surau have quite varied characteristics. Previously, there has been no research that discusses the typology of the surau in detail. Therefore, this study will answer the question of how the Typology of Surau in Jorong Pariangan, Nagari Pariangan, Tanah Datar Regency is. The data collected is in the form of archaeological data obtained through a data collection process consisting of primary and secondary data. Primary data is the result of field observations, interviews, and discussions. While secondary data is obtained from literature studies, in the form of journals, articles, theses, and old photo archives. The analysis used is morphological analysis and typological analysis which aims to see and group surau based on their type. As a result, in general, the surau building can be typed through the shape of its roof, namely (a) a surau with a two-gonjong roof (b) a surau with a three-gonjong roof (c) a surau with a four-gonjong roof (d) a surau with a pyramid roof and (e) a surau with a flat roof.
