Abstract

ABSTRAK – Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbandingan arang tandan kosong kelapa sawit dan sabut kelapa terhadap mutu biobriket serta untuk mengetahui perbandingan yang tepat antara arang tandan kosong kelapa sawit dan sabut kelapa terhadap mutu bibriket. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan dan masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebaanyak 4 kali, sehingga diperoleh 20 satuan percobaan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perbandingan arang tandan kosong kelapa sawit dan sabut kelapa berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap kadar air, kadar zat terbang, kadar abu, laju pembakaran, dan nilai kalor serta tidak berbeda nyata terhadap kerapatan. Perlakuan terbaik yaitu P1(30% tandan kosong kelapa sawit : 70% sabut kelapa) dengan nilai kadar air 5,38%, kadar zat terbang 3,01, kadar abu 5,75%, laju pembakaran 0,12g/menit, nilai kalor 4752kal/gr, dan kerapatan 0,41g/cm3. ABSTRACT – This study was conducted to determine the effect of the ratio of empty fruit bunch charcoal and coconut husks on the quality of biobriquettes and to determine the appropriate ratio of empty fruit bunch charcoal and coconut husks for the quality of biobriquettes. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments, each repeated 4 times, resulting in 20 experimental units. The result of this study indicate that the ratio of empty fruit bunch charcoal and coconut husks has a significant effect on moisture content, volatile matter content, ash content, combustion rate, and calorific value but does not significantly affect density. The best treatment was P1(30% empty fruit bunches charcoal : 70% coconut husk) with a moisture content of 5,38%, volatile matter content of 3,01%, ash content of 5,75%, combustion rate of 0,12 g/minute, calorific value 4752cal/gr, and density of 0,41g/cm3.
