Abstract
KONDISI BIOFISIK HABITAT BALANGERAN (Shorea balangeran) DI HUTAN LINDUNG GAMBUT BRAM ITAM KABUPATEN TANJUNG JABUNG BARAT Riyan Oki Prasetyo1) Bambang Irawan2) Richard Robintang Parulian Napitupulu 3) 1)Mahasiswa Jurusan Kehutanan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi 2)Dosen Jurusan Kehutanan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi 3)Dosen Jurusan Kehutanan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi Email: riyanoki367589@gmail.com ABSTRACT This research aimed to study the biophysical conditions of Balangeran (Shorea balangeran) habitat in Bram Itam Peat Forest Reserve, West Tanjung Jabung Regency. The research was conducted for 2 months (August-October 2024) using a purposive sampling method with 12 circular plots of 17.8 m diameter (total area 1.2 Ha) for sampling temperature, humidity, light intensity, soil chemistry, and Balangeran population. The results showed that 32 types of plants associated with Shorea balangeran were found in the location, dominated by the Dipterocarpaceae family (4 different species). The Kelat species (Syzygium sp.) had the highest Importance Value Index (IVI) in each growth stage: seedling (90.9%), sapling (67.61%), pole (83.10%), and tree (67.46%), meaning this species dominated the research plots. The species diversity of vegetation in Bram Itam Peat Forest Reserve was classified as moderate for all stages: seedling (1.03), sapling (1.65), pole (2.17), and tree (2.43). The peat maturity level at the research site was classified as hemic, with depths varying between 310 to 418 cm, averaging 385 cm. The climate at the research site had an average temperature of 30.21°C (ranging from 27-33°C), air humidity of 78-95%, and an average light intensity of 893.73 Lux (ranging from 212-2432 Lux). ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari kondisi biofisik habitat Balangeran (Shorea balangeran) di Hutan Lindung Gambut Bram Itam, Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 2 bulan (Agustus-Oktober 2024) menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan 12 plot lingkaran berdiameter 17,8 m (luas total 1,2 Ha) untuk pengambilan sampel suhu, kelembaban, intensitas cahaya, kimia tanah, dan populasi Balangeran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di lokasi tersebut ditemukan 32 jenis tumbuhan yang berasosiasi dengan Shorea balangeran, didominasi oleh famili Dipterocarpaceae (4 spesies berbeda). Jenis Kelat (Syzygium sp.) memiliki Indeks Nilai Penting (INP) tertinggi pada setiap stadia: semai (90,9%), pancang (67,61%), tiang (83,10%), dan pohon (67,46%), yang berarti jenis ini mendominasi plot penelitian. Keanekaragaman jenis vegetasi di Hutan Lindung Gambut Bram Itam tergolong sedang untuk semua stadia: semai (1,03), pancang (1,65), tiang (2,17), dan pohon (2,43). Tingkat kematangan gambut di lokasi penelitian tergolong hemik, dengan kedalaman bervariasi antara 310 hingga 418 cm, rata-rata 385 cm. Iklim di lokasi penelitian memiliki suhu rata-rata 30,21°C (berkisar 27-33°C), kelembaban udara 78-95%, dan intensitas cahaya rata-rata 893,73 Lux (berkisar 212-2432 Lux).
