Abstract
(2). Indonesia is a country with a high level of biodiversity, known as a Mega Biodiversity Country. As many as 10% of the world's animal species are found in Indonesia (LIPI, 2014). This high biodiversity is demonstrated by the large percentage of flora and fauna species living in Indonesia compared to the total number of species worldwide, one of which is the Herpetofauna. Herpetofauna comes from the word "Herpeton," meaning reptiles, including amphibians and reptiles. Herpetofauna are highly diverse and possess interesting forms. Herpetofauna diversity is one parameter that determines the balance and sustainability of the ecosystem in the region and the quality of the surrounding environment (Primack et al., 1998).The objective of this study is to examine deforestation events that have occurred in the Southern Merangin Resort Area of Kerinci Seblat National Park. From these events, it is also possible to identify which factors have the greatest influence as drivers of deforestation and to predict the land cover in the year 2033. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze reptile species diversity in the Bukit Sari Botanical Forest Park. The research method: This study took place in the Bukit Sari Botanical Forest Park. Data collection methods used were observation, documentation, and literature review. The types and sources of data for this study were primary and secondary data. The method used for data collection in this study was the Visual Encounter Survey (VES) method, combined with line transects, traps, and the Capture Mark Release (CMR) method. VES-Line Transects were conducted along established paths (Tajali, 2011). The results of this study are as follows: (1). Based on the results of research on the diversity of reptile species in the Bukit Sari Botanical Forest Park area, 2 orders, 9 families, 19 species from 52 individuals were found, namely: Aphaniotis fusca, Bronchochela cristratella, Gonochephalus liogaster, Hemidactylus frenatus, Gekko monarchus, Gekko kuhli, Takydromus sexlineatus, Eutropis multifasciata, Etropis rudis, Eutropis rugifera, Lipinia vittigera, Ahaetulla prasina, Dendrelaphis caudolineatus, Psammodynastes pictus, Homalopsis buccata, Xenochrophis maculatus, Xenochrophis trianguligerus, Tropidolaemus wagleri, and Dogania subplana. (2). Based on the results of the study, the species diversity index (H’) with a value of 2.65 (medium category), the Margalef species richness index (Dmg) with a value of 4.55 (medium category) and the species evenness index (E) with a value of 0.9 (high category). The community similarity index value in the Bukit Sari Botanical Forest Park area as a whole is in the low category, the highest community similarity index value is 16.6% of the transitional habitat type of rubber plantation forest and transitional forest of oil palm plantation, while 0% in the natural habitat type and transitional forest of oil palm plantation.
