Pembimbing : (1) Prof. Dr. Supian, S. Ag, M.Ag. (2) Fatonah, S.S, M.I.Kom. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai sekolah madrasah Aliyah negeri insan cendekia Jambi 2004-2020 di desa Pijoan, Jambi. Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Insan Cendekia adalah sekolah menengah atas berasrama, sekolah ini menerapkan prinsip keseimbangan antara penguasaan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi dengan iman dan takwa. Prof. Dr. Ing. Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie merupakan pendiri dari MAN Insan Cendekia. Pada awalnya hanya ada 3 Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Cendekia di seluruh Indonesia, yaitu Serpong, Gorontalo, dan Jambi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejarah berdirinya sekolah Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Insan Cendekia, mengetahui perubahan struktural sekolah Madrasah Aliyah Unggulan Swasta menjadi Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Insan Cendekia Jambi serta untuk mengetahui dampak perubahan kurikulum swasta, negeri, terhadap keberadaan madrasah aliyah negeri insan cendekia Jambi bagi masyarakat. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan metode sejarah. Sumber yang penulis gunakan dalam penulisan penelitian ini ialah studi Pustaka dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan gambaran yang komprehensif mengenai perjalanan Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Insan Cendekia (MAN IC) Jambi dari awal pendiriannya hingga tahun 2020. Berdasarkan studi pustaka dan hasil wawancara dengan berbagai narasumber, diketahui bahwa madrasah ini awalnya merupakan Madrasah Aliyah Unggulan Swasta Pijoan, yang didirikan pada tanggal 3 Desember 2004 atas inisiatif sejumlah tokoh lokal di Desa Pijoan, Kecamatan Jambi Luar Kota, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi, dengan dukungan dari Kantor Wilayah Kementerian Agama Provinsi Jambi. Kemudian, melalui Surat Keputusan Kepala Kanwil Kemenag Provinsi Jambi Nomor Kw.05.4/4/PP.03.2/1091/2006, pada tanggal 20 September 2006, madrasah ini mengalami perubahan nama menjadi Madrasah Aliyah Cendekia Jambi, sebagai bagian dari penguatan struktur kelembagaan dan orientasi keunggulan akademik. Transformasi besar terjadi ketika madrasah ini dinegerikan secara resmi berdasarkan SK Menteri Agama RI Nomor 49 Tahun 2009, yang menetapkan statusnya sebagai Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Cendekia Jambi, menandai dimulainya fase baru dalam pengelolaan, pendanaan, dan kurikulum yang terintegrasi dalam sistem pendidikan nasional berbasis keislaman. Kemudian, sebagai bagian dari penguatan identitas dan penyelarasan dengan jaringan nasional madrasah unggulan berbasis asrama, pada 27 September 2013 keluar Keputusan Menteri Agama RI Nomor 186 Tahun 2013 yang menetapkan nama resmi menjadi Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Insan Cendekia Jambi. This study discusses the Jambi Insan Cendekia State Islamic Senior High School (MAS) from 2004 to 2020 in Pijoan Village, Jambi. Insan Cendekia State Islamic Senior High School is a boarding high school, which implements the principle of balance between mastery of science and technology with faith and piety. Prof. Dr. Ing. Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie is the founder of MAN Insan Cendekia. Initially, there were only 3 State Islamic Senior High Schools (MAS) throughout Indonesia, namely Serpong, Gorontalo, and Jambi. This study aims to determine the history of the establishment of the Insan Cendekia State Islamic Senior High School, to determine the structural changes of the Private Leading Islamic Senior High School to become the Insan Cendekia Jambi State Islamic Senior High School and to determine the impact of changes in the private and state curriculum on the existence of the Insan Cendekia Jambi State Islamic Senior High School for the community. In this study, the author uses a historical method. The sources used in writing this research are library studies and interviews. The results of this study provide a comprehensive overview of the journey of the State Madrasah Aliyah Insan Cendekia (MAN IC) Jambi from its inception until 2020. Based on literature studies and interviews with various sources, it is known that this madrasah was originally a Private Madrasah Aliyah Unggulan Pijoan, which was founded on December 3, 2004 on the initiative of a number of local figures in Pijoan Village, Jambi Luar Kota District, Muaro Jambi Regency, with support from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Jambi Province. Then, through the Decree of the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Jambi Province Number Kw.05.4 / 4 / PP.03.2 / 1091 / 2006, on September 20, 2006, this madrasah underwent a name change to Madrasah Aliyah Cendekia Jambi, as part of strengthening the institutional structure and orientation of academic excellence. A major transformation occurred when this madrasah was officially nationalized based on the Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Number 49 of 2009, which established its status as Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Cendekia Jambi, marking the beginning of a new phase in management, funding, and curriculum integrated into the national Islamic-based education system. Then, as part of strengthening the identity and alignment with the national network of superior boarding-based madrasahs, on September 27, 2013, the Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Number 186 of 2013 was issued which established the official name as Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Insan Cendekia Jambi.
