Abstract
ABSTRACT Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) is one of the spice vegetable commodity crops that has an important role for the community, both in terms of economics and its high nutritional content. This study aims to examine the effect of acacia bark compost on the growth and yield of shallots, and to obtain the dose of acacia bark compost that provides the best growth and yield of shallots. This study was conducted at the Teaching and Research Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University, UNJA Mendalo Campus, Mendalo Indah Village, Jambi Luar Kota District, Muaro Jambi Regency in February–April 2025. This study used a one-factor Randomized Block Design (RAK) with six levels of acacia bark compost treatment, namely p0: 0 ton.ha-1, p1: 3 ton.ha-1, p2: 6 ton.ha-1, p3: 9 ton.ha-1, p4: 12 ton.ha-1, p5: 15 ton.ha-1. Each treatment was repeated four times, so there were 24 experimental plots. Each plot contained 30 plants and 4 sample plants were taken from each experimental plot, so that in total there were 720 plants and 96 sample plants. The results showed that the application of acacia bark compost significantly affected the number of leaves, the number of tubers per clump, the weight of tubers per clump, the dry weight per clove, and the diameter of the tubers. but did not affect plant height. The plant dose of 12 tons ha-1 showed the best results for the growth and yield of shallots. Keywords: shallots, acacia bark compost ABSTRAK Bawang merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) Merupakan salah satu tanaman komoditas sayuran rempah yang memiliki peran penting bagi masyarakat, baik dari segi ekonomis dan kandungan gizinya yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pemberian kompos kulit batang akasia terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman bawang merah, serta mendapatkan dosis kompos kulit batang akasia yang memberikan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman bawang merah terbaik. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Teaching and Research Farm Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi, Kampus UNJA Mendalo, Desa Mendalo Indah, Kecamatan Jambi Luar Kota, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi pada bulan Februari–April 2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) satu faktor dengan enam taraf perlakuan kompos kulit batang akasia yaitu p0 : 0 ton.ha-1, p1 : 3 ton.ha-1, p2 : 6 ton.ha-1, p3 : 9 ton.ha-1, p4 : 12 ton.ha-1, p5 : 15 ton.ha-1. Masing-masing perlakuan diulang empat kali, sehingga terdapat 24 petakan percobaan. Setiap petakan terdapat 30 tanaman dan disetiap petak percobaan diambil 4 tanaman sampel, sehingga secara keseluruhan terdapat 720 tanaman dan 96 tanaman sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian kompos kulit batang akasia berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah daun, jumlah umbi per rumpun, bobot umbi per rumpun, bobot kering per siung, dan diameter umbi. tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap tinggi tanaman. Dosis tanaman dengan 12 ton.ha-1 menunjukan hasil terbaik untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman bawang merah.
