Abstract

Abstrak: Penerapan Model Discovery Learning Pada Teks Berita di Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 15 Kota Jambi. Pendidik dituntut untuk kreatif atau bisa menciptakan susasana yang baru dalam proses pembelajaran, yaitu dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang meningkatkan keaktifan siswa, dengan penemuan secara mandiri adalah pembelajaran berbasis model Discovery Learning. Model Discovery learning menjadi sebuah tantangan apakah kehadirannya akan membawa dampak positif terhadap perubahan siswa untuk lebih termotivasi dalam belajar. Berdasarkan latar belakang, rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana penerapan model discovery learning dalam materi mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur teks berita di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 15 Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui, penerapan model Discovery Learning dalam materi mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur teks berita di kelas VIII. Untuk mencapai tujuan di atas penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Lokasi penelitiannya terletak di SMP Negeri 15 Kota Jambi. Menggunakan metode pengumpulan data yaitu, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Discovery Learning dalam materi teks berita di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 15 Kota Jambi bahwa pada bagian stimulus guru membebaskan siswa dalam mencari defenisi berita itu sendiri, pada bagian identifikasi masalah guru menuntun siswa menyampaikan hasil dari peemuannya, pada bagian pembuktian guru turut ikut menyampaikan materi yang sebenarnya dan menyeluruh, pada bagian kesimpulan guru dan siswa saling menyimpulkan materi yang sudah mereka bahas. Abstract: The Application of the Discovery Learning Model in News Texts in Class VIII A of SMP Negeri 15 Jambi City Educators are required to be creative or be able to create a new atmosphere in the learning process, namely by applying a learning model. One of the learning models that increases student activity, with independent discovery is learning based on the Discovery Learning model. The Discovery learning model becomes a challenge whether its presence will have a positive impact on changing students to be more motivated in learning. Based on the background, the formulation of the problem in this study is how to apply the discovery learning model in the material to identify news text elements in class VIII SMP Negeri 15 Jambi City. This study aims to find out, the application of the Discovery Learning model in the material to identify news text elements in class VIII. To achieve the above objectives this study uses a qualitative approach. The research location is located at SMP Negeri 15 Jambi City. Using data collection methods, namely, observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that the application of the Discovery Learning model in news text material in class VIII SMP Negeri 15 Jambi City that in the stimulus section the teacher freed students in finding the definition of the news itself, in the problem identification section the teacher guided students to convey the results of their findings, in the teacher's proof section participate in conveying actual and comprehensive material, in the conclusion section the teacher and students mutually conclude the material they have discussed.
