Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskprisikan tingkat kesulitan peserta didik dalam menulis karangan sederhana di kelas III SD, kesulitan-kesulitan peserta didik dalam menulis karangan sederhana dan cara guru dalam mengatasi kesulitan peserta didik. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Negeri III/I Muara Bulian pada tanggal 8 Mei 2023 hingga 8 Juni 2023. Peneliti menggunakan menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Sumber data penelitian ini yaitu guru kelas III dan peserta didik kelas III SD Negeri 111/I Muara Bulian. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dengan menggunakan instrumen tes kesulitan menulis karangan sederhana yang diberikan kepada peserta didik di kelas III sedangkan analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif dengan rumus persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik mengalami kesulitan dalam menentukan judul, kepaduan kalimat, pemilihan kata dan penerapan ejaan. Adapun persentase kesulitan yang dialami peserta didik yaitu: 25% subjek kesulitan pada kesesuaian judul, 21% subjek kesulitan pada kepaduan kalimat, 38% subjek kesulitan pada pemilihan kata, dan 46% subjek kesulitan pada penerapan ejaan. Cara guru dalam mengatasi kesulitan-kesulitan yang dialami peserta didik dalam menulis karangan sederhana ialah: guru memberikan perhatian lebih terhadap peserta didik yang masih mengalami kesulitan dalam menulis karangan sederhana, guru mengarahkan peserta didik untuk membaca sebelum memulai pembelajaran, dan guru memberikan bimbingan kepada peserta didik saat jam pelajaran. This research aims to describe the level of difficulty of students in writing simple essays in class III elementary school, the difficulties of students in writing simple essays and the teacher's way of overcoming students' difficulties. This research was conducted at SD Negeri III/I Muara Bulian from 8 May 2023 to 8 June 2023. Researchers used a descriptive quantitative research design. The data sources for this research are class III teachers and class III students at SD Negeri 111/I Muara Bulian. This research data was obtained using a simple essay writing difficulty test instrument given to students in class III, while data analysis was carried out quantitatively using a percentage formula. The research results showed that students had difficulty in determining titles, sentence coherence, word selection and spelling. The percentage of difficulties experienced by students is: 25% of subjects have difficulty with title suitability, 21% of subjects have difficulty with sentence coherence, 38% of subjects have difficulty with word choice, and 46% of subjects have difficulty with spelling. The teacher's way of overcoming the difficulties experienced by students in writing simple essays is: the teacher gives more attention to students who still experience difficulties in writing simple essays, the teacher directs students to read before starting learning, and the teacher provides guidance to students during class time
