Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara kontrol diri dan kecanduan judi online di kalangan anggota server Discord berusia dewasa awal. Dalam era digital saat ini, kecanduan judi online menjadi salah satu isu serius yang dipicu oleh kemudahan akses dan kemajuan teknologi. Kecanduan ini didefinisikan sebagai ketidakmampuan untuk menghentikan kebiasaan berjudi online meskipun sudah menyadari dampak negatif yang ditimbulkannya. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional untuk menilai sejauh mana kontrol diri dapat mempengaruhi kecanduan judi online. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 157 individu yang dipilih melalui teknik random sampling dari populasi anggota server Discord. Alat ukur yang digunakan meliputi skala kontrol diri dan skala kecanduan judi online, dengan analisis data dilakukan melalui Pearson’s Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif dengan kategori sedang antara kontrol diri dan kecanduan judi online (r = -0,439, p < 0.001), mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi kontrol diri seseorang, semakin rendah tingkat kecanduan judi online yang dialami, dan sebaliknya. Temuan ini memberikan bukti bahwa peningkatan kontrol diri dapat menjadi faktor penting dalam mengurangi kecanduan judi online di kalangan dewasa awal. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-control and online gambling addiction among early adult members of Discord servers. In the current digital era, online gambling addiction has become a serious issue triggered by easy access and technological advancements. This addiction is defined as the inability to stop the habit of online gambling despite being aware of its negative consequences. The study employs a quantitative correlational approach to assess the extent to which self-control can influence online gambling addiction. The research sample consists of 157 individuals selected through random sampling techniques from the population of Discord server members. The measurement tools used include a self-control scale and an online gambling addiction scale, with data analysis conducted using Pearson’s Product Moment. The results indicate a moderate negative relationship between self-control and online gambling addiction (r = -0.439, p < 0.001), indicating that higher self-control is associated with lower levels of online gambling addiction, and vice versa. These findings provide evidence that increasing self-control can be an important factor in reducing online gambling addiction among early adults.
