Abstract

Keywords: Make A Match Method, English Vocabulary This research aims to find out the differences in increasing students' vocabulary before and after using Make A Match method for learning English at the seventh grade of SMPN 24 Batanghari. This research used a quantitative approach with pre�experimental design. The population in this research were the students of SMPN 24 Batanghari Class VII. The samples used in this research were 32 students in Class VII A. To obtain the data, the researcher used an instrument test, that is the pre-test and post-test. Then, to analysed the data, the researcher used the paired sample T�test formula to determine is there a significant difference in the students' mastery of vocabulary before and after being taught by using Make a Match learning Method. Based on the results analysis conducted in this research, the results of the research show that Sig. (2 tailed) appearance is 0.00, which is smaller than 0.05. Based on data analysis and results of hypothesis calculations, it is known that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted here are the results: There is a significant effect of using Make A Match method to students' vocabulary mastery of seventh-grade students of SMPN 24 Batanghari
