Abstract

Nowadays, technology has a significant impact in Education. Changes in assessing students’ assignments became the focus of the researcher because the current study to find out how digital application implementation was carried out by EFL Teacher and the challenges in using digital application when assessing students’ assignments. The research employed a qualitative method with a case study. Some research instruments needed to collect the data namely observation, documents, and interviews. The participant in this research is an EFL Teacher in one of Private School in Kota Jambi. The findings of the study showed that The EFL Teacher's experience in implementing digital application to assess students’ assignments such as pre-activity (collecting the questions, numbering the questions, and choosing the type of digital application), while activity (screen display, the information of the digital application, and time limitation to the students), and post activity (the students score and input the scores). This study also found the challenges faced by The EFL Teacher when using Digital Application such as difficulties when using digital application and the way EFL Teacher solve the challenges. The researcher can conclude that Digital Application did quite well in assessing student assessments, however technical difficulties in operating digital platforms and tools are still challenging for The EFL Teacher.
