Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan representasi matematis siswa dengan tingkat disposisi matematis rendah, sedang, dan tinggi dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika. Kegiatan penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 9 Kota Jambi pada kelas VIII G pada tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan secara sistematis dan jelas mengenai kemampuan representasi matematis siswa ditinjau dari disposisi matematis dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika. Pada penelitian ini, teknik pemilihan subjek penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive. Pemilihan subjek pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara memberikan angket disposisi matematis untuk mengkategorikan disposisi matematis siswa kedalam tiga tingkat yaitu tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah tes kemampuan representasi matematis, penyebaran angket disposisi matematis dan wawancara. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data menurut Miles dan Huberman yakni reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa siswa dengan disposisi matematis yang tinggi memenuhi indikator menuliskan situasi masalah berdasarkan informasi yang diberikan dan menyusun prosedur penyelesaian masalah matematika dengan menggunakan kata-kata atau teks tertulis, menyimbolkan dan memodifikasi masalah matematika berdasarkan informasi yang diberikan dan menyelesaikan masalah matematika dengan menggunakan persamaan atau model matematika, serta menentukan dan mengoperasikan diagram atau grafik untuk memfasilitasi penyelesaian masalah matematika. Siswa dengan disposisi matematis sedang memenuhi indikator menuliskan situasi masalah berdasarkan informasi yang diberikan dan menyusun prosedur penyelesaian masalah matematika dengan menggunakan kata-kata atau teks tertulis, memodifikasi masalah matematika berdasarkan informasi yang diberikan dan menyelesaikan masalah matematika dengan menggunakan persamaan atau model matematika, serta menentukan dan mengoperasikan diagram atau grafik untuk memfasilitasi penyelesaian masalah matematika. Siswa dengan disposisi matematis rendah hanya memuhi indikator menyelesaikan masalah matematika dengan menggunakan persamaan atau model matematika dan mengoperasikan diagram atau grafik untuk memfasilitasi penyelesaian masalah matematika. Maka dapat disimpulkan siswa dengan disposisi matematis tinggi memiliki kemampuan representasi verbal, simbolik dan visual. Untuk siswa dengan disposisi matematis sedang memiliki kemampuan representasi matematis verbal dan visual. Kemudian untuk siswa dengan disposisi matematis rendah tidak memiliki kemampuan representasi verbal, simbolik dan visual. This study aims to analyze the mathematical representation abilities of students with low, medium, and high levels of mathematical disposition in solving mathematics problems. This research activity was carried out at SMP Negeri 9 Jambi City in class VIII G in the 2023/2024 school year. This study uses a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach with the aim of describing systematically and clearly the mathematical representation abilities of students in terms of mathematical disposition in solving math problems. In this study, the research subject selection technique used purposive technique. The selection of subjects in this study was carried out by giving a mathematical disposition questionnaire to categorize students' mathematical disposition into three levels, namely high, medium, and low. The data collection techniques used were mathematical representation ability test, distribution of mathematical disposition questionnaire and interview. Data analysis in this study used data analysis according to Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study found that students with high mathematical disposition met the indicators of writing problem situations based on the information given and compiling mathematical problem solving procedures using words or written text, symbolizing and modifying mathematical problems based on the information given and solving mathematical problems using mathematical equations or models, and determining and operating diagrams or graphs to facilitate solving mathematical problems. Students with medium mathematical disposition meet the indicators of writing problem situations based on the information given and compiling mathematical problem solving procedures using words or written text, modifying mathematical problems based on the information given and solving mathematical problems using mathematical equations or models, and determining and operating diagrams or graphs to facilitate solving mathematical problems. Students with low mathematical disposition only meet the indicators of solving mathematical problems using mathematical equations or models and operating diagrams or graphs to facilitate solving mathematical problems. So it can be concluded that students with high mathematical disposition have verbal, symbolic and visual representation abilities. For students with medium mathematical disposition have verbal and visual mathematical representation ability. Then for students with low mathematical disposition do not have verbal, symbolic and visual representation abilities.
