Abstract

This research was aimed to figure out the effect of U-dictionary application for students’ vocabulary mastery of fifth graders of SDN 01 Jambi city. The participants of this research were fifth graders of SDN 01 Jambi city. There were two groups, experimental group classes which consisted of 2 classes, A and B. While in another group is, control group classes which consisted of 2 classes, C and D. The design of this research was experimental class. The data were analyzed by using quantitative method. The data of this research were collected by using pre-test, post-test, and observation. Pre-test and post-test were used in order to collect the data and compare the results between the classes which using application and without using the application. Observation was used to recognize each character of students in order the researcher can conduct the research well. Finding and discussion which is the result of the four parts have increased and also decreased. In addition, the researcher also can find the result of the t-test, it can be said that the overall result of the t-test is in the H0 category, which can be concluded that the research carried out has an influence between the effect of the application and the students’ vocabulary mastery. In the final chapter which are the conclusions and suggestions have a proof for the research of the study. As researcher can see that the effect of U-dictionary apps can affect the ability of the students and make them to better to mastery the vocabulary.
