Abstract

This study aims to explore the experiences of English Study Program students in participating in the Kampus Mengajar program and figure out the challenges faced by students in this program. This research was conducted at the English Study Program of Universitas Jambi. The researcher used a qualitative method with a case study approach by using interview and documentation techniques to collect data. The participants of this study were students of the English Study Program who had participated in the Kampus Mengajar program in batch 6. The findings revealed that students gained various experiences during the Kampus Mengajar program, namely assisting teachers in literacy and numeracy improvement activities, assisting teachers and students in technology adaptation, assisting teachers in running school administration, assisting teachers in the teaching and learning process in the classroom, and leadership experience. In addition, students also faced challenges regarding bad access roads, lack of resources and facilities, poor electricity and connections, lack of administrative support, lack of experience and competence, student misbehavior, and lack of student interest and motivation.
