Abstract

The purpose of this qualitative research was to explore how students perceive the project-based learning implementation in English Education Study Program Universitas Jambi. The study used narrative research to provide a rich source of data on each individual’s experiences. Six participants participated, and they fulfilled the inclusive criteria, including (1) being active students in English Education Study Program of Universitas Jambi, (2) having experienced project-based learning method during their study, and (3) willing to voluntarily participate in the research. In collecting the data, this research utilized semi-structured interviews. Qualitative data analysis techniques by Miles and Huberman (1984) were then applied to analyze the data, data reduction, data display, and conclusions subsequently. The results indicated three themes in how students perceive PBL implementation in English Study Program of Universitas Jambi, namely: (1) PBL is a well-employed technique, (2) PBL implementation is potentially developed, and (3) PBL implementation in English Study Program has an area of weaknesses.
