Keywords: Learning Media, Vocabulary, Teachers’ Experience, Teaching and Learning. The purpose and aims of this research were to find out the variation types of learning media that the English teachers used in teaching vocabulary, to identify the benefits that the English teachers got in teaching vocabulary by using learning media, also to know what the challenges that the English teachers faced and how they overcome all those challenges. This qualitative research explored the experiences of English teachers at junior high school 14 Jambi city, by how they choose the right types of learning media that suitable for students in vocabulary learning, how those learning media benefits for the English teachers themselves, also what the challenges and how they navigating the challenges that emerge. This research utilized semi-structured interviews with two participants by using the instruments in form of interview questions protocol. The result showed that English teachers at junior high school 14 Jambi city used several types of learning media in teaching vocabulary, each of the English teachers used diverse types and variations of learning media. Based on the data interviews, the key themes emerging from the data include, the teachers used technology and non-technology based media such as Kahoot, Quizizz, daily video vocabulary and digital radio media, while for non-technology based media the teachers used word scramble and picture word matching. The research highlights the benefits for English teachers while using learning media in vocabulary learning, based on the English teachers’ explanation, the benefits were make the English teacher feel easy in delivering material, then making learning activities not monotonous, by using learning media also can increase students’ motivation, increase student’s participation, create an active learning environtment and also improve students’ learning outcomes. Then, the findings reveal a range of challenges, including the strategies that English teachers take to overcome those challenges, the challenges were divided into two factors they are the internal factors these are lack of teachers’ skills in using digital or modern media and difficulty in designing the perfect learning media that suits students’ abilities and external factor these are lack of projectors and power outage. For solving the problems the researcher got several findings that have described in findings and discussion part.
