Kata kunci: kemampuan membaca pemahaman, model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading Compotition (CIRC) Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman peserta didik melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading Composition (CIRC). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IV SD 64/1 Muara Bulian yang berjumlah 18 orang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus yang masing-masing terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan membaca pemahaman peserta didik sebelum diterapkan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading Compotition (CIRC) masih tergolong rendah yaitu dengan persentase rata-rata kelas 50% yang disebabkan oleh faktor motivasi, minat baca, dan penggunaan metode yang konvensional. Proses pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading Compotition (CIRC) berlangsung 5 tahap, yaitu orientasi, organisasi, pengenalan konsep, puplikasi, dan penguatan atau refleksi. Jika pembelajaran dilakukan dengan menerapkan semua langkah pembelajaran CIRC akan berdampak positif terhadap pemahaman bacaan peserta didik. Hasil penelitian setelah diterapkannya model pembelajaran CIRC menunjukkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman peserta didik mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Pada tahap pratindakan, nilai rata-rata peserta didik hanya mencapai 50%, kemudian meningkat menjadi 55% pada siklus I pertemuan 1, 61% pada pertemuan 2, 74% pada siklus II pertemuan 1, dan mencapai 82% pada siklus II pertemuan 2. Peningkatan ini menunjukkan bahwa model CIRC efektif dalam membantu peserta didik memahami isi bacaan, menemukan ide pokok dan pendukung, menentukan pernyataan sesuai isi bacaan, serta mampu menyimpulkan isi teks secara mandiri. Dengan demikian, penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading Composition (CIRC) terbukti dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman peserta didik kelas IV SD 64/1 Muara Bulian yang dapat dilihat dari tercapainya indikator keberhasilan. Keywords: reading comprehension skills, Cooperative Integrated Reading Competence (CIRC) learning model This study aims to improve students' reading comprehension skills through the application of the Cooperative Integrated Reading Composition (CIRC) learning model. The subjects were 18 fourth-grade students at SD 64/1 Muara Bulian. This study was a classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that students' reading comprehension ability before the implementation of the Cooperative Integrated Reading Compotation (CIRC) learning model was still relatively low, with an average class percentage of 50% caused by motivational factors, reading interest, and the use of conventional methods. The learning process using the Cooperative Integrated Reading Compotition (CIRC) learning model takes place in 5 stages, namely orientation, organization, concept introduction, replication, and reinforcement or reflection. If learning is carried out by implementing all CIRC learning steps, it will have a positive impact on students' reading comprehension. The results of the study after the implementation of the CIRC learning model showed that students' reading comprehension skills experienced a significant increase. At the pre-action stage, the average value of students only reached 50%, then increased to 55% in cycle I meeting 1, 61% in meeting 2, 74% in cycle II meeting 1, and reached 82% in cycle II meeting 2. This increase shows that the CIRC model is effective in helping students understand the contents of the reading, find main and supporting ideas, determine statements according to the contents of the reading, and are able to conclude the contents of the text independently. Thus, the application of the Cooperative Integrated Reading Composition (CIRC) learning model has been proven to improve the reading comprehension skills of fourth grade students at SD 64/1 Muara Bulian, which can be seen from the achievement of success indicators.
