Abstract

ABSTRACT The objectives of this study were to investigate students’ attitude towards online learning and the differences of students’ attitude based on several factors namely gender, class and learning media. This is quantitative research with focused on survey design. The population in this study was students of SMA Pelita Raya Jambi which consisted of 6 classes with 133 students. The writer used total sampling which means all students in six classes involved in this research. The data is collected by questionnaire which consisted of 30 items. Based on the research findings, it revealed that students at SMA Pelita Raya Jambi have positive attitudes towards the use of online learning in English Language Learning Process during COVID-19 Pandemic. It also found that students at SMA Pelita Raya employed behavior component as the most dominant attitude that students have regarding to their respond towards online learning in English language learning process during COVID-19. In term of differences of gender, the result of the ANOVA analysis and Post Hoc test found that female students have more positive attitude towards online learning rather than male students. In difference of classes, it is found that students in class X A and X B have positive attitude towards online learning better than students in other classes. The last, in learning media, it is found that Google Classroom is significantly different compared with the other learning media. It means that students who used Google Classroom as their learning media has positive attitude better than other students that used the other two learning media .
