Abstract

Skripsi ini membahas tentang sebaran, fungsi dari tiap jihat yang berada di wilayah Mendapo Limo Dusun dan Mendapo Rawang, Kerinci dan fenomena budaya apa saja yang terdapat pada tinggalan jihat tersebut. Secara administrasi pada saat ini wilayah Mendapo Limo Dusun dan Mendapo Rawang berada di wilayah administratif Kota Sungai Penuh. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan tahapan penelitian arkeologi, yaitu dimulai dari pengumpulan data, pengolahan data, dan interpretasi data dan juga menggunakan metode observasi partisipan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengungkapkan bagaimana peranan jihat dalam kehidupan masyarakat dan fenomena budaya apa saja yang terdapat pada jihat berdasarkan fungsi, letak, dan persepsi masyarakat adat terhadap jihat. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi yang menekankan pengalaman subjektif individu terhadap objek seperti jihat yang dikemukakan oleh Christoper Tilley. Hasil penelitian ini adalah melihat bagaimana distribusi dari jihat beserta fungsi dari tiap jihat yaitu, sebagai sarana ritual, penanda kubur, dan batas kampung. This essay was about the distibution, the function of every jihat remains on the region of Mendapo Limo Dusun and Mendapo Rawang, Kerinci and the cultural phenomenon that exist on the jihat remains. Based on administration the region of Mendapo Limo Dusun and Mendapo Rawang, Kerinci are in the administrative of Sungai Penuh city. There are 3 research questions asked: (1) where is the distributions of jihat remains in the distric of Mendapo Limo Dusun and Mendapo Rawang, Kerinci? (2) what is the functions of jihat remains in Mendapo Limo Dusun and Mendapo Rawang based from the location, shapes, and the cultural phenomenom? (3) how are the differences and similarities in the perceptions that the practicers of the rituals of jihat means by the people?. The method of research involvers a gradual archaeological study, there is collecting the data, processing the data, and interpretation of data also using the participant observation method. The purpose of this study is to reveal how the role of the jihat in society and what cultural phenomena might reflect on this function, position, and perceptions of the indigenous people. The study employs a phenomenon approach that emphasizes individual subjective experiences on objects such as the jihat presented by Cristopher Tilley. The result of this study are to see how the distribution of jihat and the function of each jihat, rituals, signs, and village boundaries.
