Abstract
ABSTRACT Rahmadan, Muhammad Kurniawan (2022) “Investigating EFL Kindergarten Teachers Media and Challenges in Teaching Vocabulary. The first supervisor is Dr. Masbirorotni, S.Pd. M.Sc.Ed and the second supervisor is Dr. Mukhlash Abrar, S.S, M.Hum ABSTRACT This research purposes are to investigate EFL kindergarten teachers’ media and challenges in teaching vocabulary. This research design was descriptive qualitative. Qualitative descriptive was used in this study with three participants from private kindergarten schools. The method used in this research was case study. The data was collected through interviews and audio visual. The data was analysed by thematic analysis. The findings revealed that they are similarities media used by teachers. Most of them used printed and properties, and technology. Printed and properties are books and flashcards. Technology are software games, educational video, television computer devices, songs and games. In other way, the teachers faced some challenges whereas taught vocabulary in the classroom. They are students, schools, and teachers problems. Students’ problems means that the problems came out from students. School problems means the challenges resources from schools. Teachers’ problems are in the teacher's suitcase. Students’ problems are noisy students, inclusive students, students’ moods. School problems is kind of facility problems. Then, teachers’ problems that are classroom management and teachers’ mood. They had some challenges in teaching vocabulary for young learners. As the result, media is used by them whom to teach easier in classroom and minimized their challenges. Keywords: Challenges, EFL Teachers, Media, Vocabulary, Young Learners.
