Abstract

Latar Belakang: Di Indonesia prevalensi skizofrenia cukup tinggi. Provinsi Jambi adalah salah satu provinsi dengan penderita skizofenia terbanyak dimana prevalensi tertinggi ada di kota Sungai Penuh dengan angka sebesar 19,81%. Skizofrenia merupakan salah satu gangguan jiwa yang menyebabkan pikiran, persepsi, emosi dan perilaku individu menjadi menyimpang. Masih banyak masyarakat yang memiliki pengetahuan yang kurang tentang skizofrenia sehingga menimbulkan persepsi yang negatif terhadap penderita skizofrenia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetaui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan dan persepsi masyarakat teradap penderita skizofrenia di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kumun Kota Sungai Penuh. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian survei dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 110 kepala keluarga. Pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan metode Cluster Random Sampling dan Pengolahan data menggunakan uji Chi-Square. Hasil: Tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat Sebagian besar berada di kategori kurang yaitu 55,5%, sebagian besar masyarakat memiliki persepsi negatif sebanyak 53,6%. Terdapat hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan dengan persepsi masyarakat dengan hasil pearson Chi-Square sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan dengan persepsi masyarakat terhadap penderita skizofrenia di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kumun Kota Sungai Penuh. Kata Kunci: Pengetahuan, Persepsi, Skizofrenia Background: In Indonesia, the prevalence of schizophrenia is quite high. Jambi province is one of the provinces with the most schizophrenic sufferers where the highest prevalence is in Sungai penuh city with a rate of 19.81%. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that causes thoughts, perceptions,emotions and individual behavior to become distorted. There are still many people who have less knowledge about schizophrenia, giving rise to negative perceptions of people with schizophrenia. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and public perception of people with schizophrenia in the working area of the Kumun Public Health Center, Sungai Penuh City. Methods: This study used a survey research type with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were 110 heads of families. Sampling using the Cluster Random Sampling method. and Data processing using the Chi-Square test. Results: The level of public knowledge is mostly in the less category, namely 55.5%, most people have a negative perception of 53.6%. There is a relationship between the level of knowledge and public perception with the Pearson chi-square result of 0.000 <0.05. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the level of knowledge and people's perceptions of people with schizophrenia in the working area of the Kumun Health Center, Sungai Penuh City.
