Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya fenomena pelanggaran disiplin belajar oleh siswa di SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi sepertimengganggu teman ketika jam pelajaran berlangsung, tidak mengerjakan tugas yang guru berikan, makan ketika guru menjelaskan materi pelajaran dan sebagainya. Pelanggaran disiplin belajar terjadi disebabkan berbagai macam faktor, salah satunya adalah kontrol diri. Namun setiap siswa memiliki tingkat kontrol diri yang berbeda-beda, sehingga disiplin belajar setiap siswa pun berbeda-beda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur seberapa besar tingkat kontrol diri siswa kelas VIII SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi dan seberapa seberapa besar tingkat disiplin belajar siswa kelas VIII SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi serta untuk mengungkapkan hubungan antara kontrol diri dengan disiplin belajar siswa di SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi dengan jumlah sampel 82 orang. Teknik penarikan sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling, teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa angket. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji normalitas, uji linearitas, dan uji analisis korelasi dengan menggunakan product moment. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara kontrol diri dengan disiplin belajar di SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi dilihat dari analisis korelasi nilai Sig sebesar 0.001<0.05 maka variabel kontrol diri dengan disiplin belajar siswa memiliki hubungan yang kecil sebesar 0,367 dan ditafsirkan sebagai korelasi rendah (hubungan jelas tetapi kecil). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi kontrol diri maka semakin tinggi pula disiplin belajar siswa. Tingkat kontrol diri siswa SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi berada pada kategori tinggi dengan persentase 84,83% dan tingkat disiplin belajar siswa SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi berada pada kategori tinggi dengan persentase 78,2%. This research was motivated by the phenomenon of violations of learning discipline by students at SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi, such as disturbing friends during class hours, not doing assignments that the teacher gave, eating when the teacher explained the subject matter and so on. Violations of learning discipline occur due to various factors, one of which is self-control. However, each student has a different level of self-control, so that the learning discipline of each student is different. This study aims to measure the level of self-control of students in class VIII SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi and the level of discipline in class VIII students of SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi and to reveal the relationship between self-control and discipline in student learning at SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi. This type of research is quantitative research using correlational methods. The population in this study were class VIII students at SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi with a total sample of 82 people. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling, the data collection technique used in this study was a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used in this study is the normality test, linearity test, and correlation analysis test using the product moment. The results of this study state that there is a relationship between self-control and learning discipline at SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi seen from the correlation analysis of the Sig value of 0.001 <0.05, the self-control variable with student learning discipline has a small relationship of 0.367 and is interpreted as a low correlation (relationship clear but small). This shows that the higher the self-control, the higher the student's learning discipline. The level of self-control of students at SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi is in the high category with a percentage of 84.83% and the level of learning discipline of students at SMP Negeri 7 Muaro Jambi is in the high category with a percentage of 78.2%.
