Abstract
The purpose of this study was to figure out the student perceptions on the implemented of Kampus Mengajar program in fostering soft skills especially in three aspects of soft skills namely, communication skill, leadership competences, and team work experiences. This research conducted a descriptive qualitative method design and used semi-structured interviews to collect data. The data were collected using interviews and documentations. The interviews were done online using the Zoom App. The participants of this research were five from English department at Jambi University who were participated at Kampus Mengajar Program in batches 4 and 5. There are 3 aspects of soft skills as a main theme of the data analysis, namely, communication skill, leadership competences, and teamwork experiences. The results of the findings found that Kampus Mengajar Program provides a good experience for students in training their soft skills. There are several reasons, activities, and challenges the students had during the program. The students agreed that the soft skills obtained through the Kampus Mengajar program could be useful for their future careers. The skills in communication, leadership, and team work are very useful and needed when they enter the world of work. Such as communication skills for a teacher, leadership skills in leading a work environment, and collaboration skills in carrying out a work program with a teams.
