Abstract
This research aimed to investigate English Teacher's challenges and how they overcome the challenges in one of junior high school in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency. The design use in this research was qualitative research method with case study approach. The participant of this study were two teachers at seven grade class in one of Juniour High School in Tanjung Jabung Barat regency. The result of data analysis produced three themes that found based on the dept - interview from the participants : the first teacher challenges ; talking about the internal factor and external factor. Internal factor likes Minimum understanding about Merdeka Belajar Curriculum, Minimum Pedagogicalabilities, difficulty in managing the allocation of learning time, lack of knowledge about the use of technology for learning activities, minimal training on the implementation of the new curriculum. the result has shown that it was difficult to adjust the new curriculum impementation, but the teachers coped the challenges with some strategies to overcome the challenges; talking about the solution from the teacher challenges, they are ; discussing with colleagues through the MGMP program regarding technology issues in learning, coordinating with students to provide independent electronic devices on listening skill, purchasing equipment using personal funds, using peer tutoring method and inviting delegate teachers who have taking part in merdeka belajar curriculum training.
