Abstract

Peningkatan Motivasi dan Aktivitas Peserta Didik dengan Menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Talking Stick Muatan IPA Kelas VI SDN 79/IV Kota Jambi: Tesis, Magister Pendidikan Dasar. Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Jambi, Pembimbing (I) Dr. Muhammad Sofwan, S.Pd.,M.Pd. (II) Dr. Indryani, S.Pd., M.Pd, I. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran Talking Stick dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan aktivitas peserta didik pada muatan IPA kelas VI SDN 79/IV Kota Jambi. Hasil penelitian setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran talking stick muatan IPA mampu meningkatkan motivasi dan aktivitas belajar peserta didik. Hal ini dikarenakan siswa mengalami peningkatan motivasi dan aktivitas belajar dengan memperhatikan indikator motivasi dan aktivitas belajar peserta didik dalam kegiatan pembelajaran yang dapat terlihat pada setiap siklus pertemuan. Hasil dari penelitian pada siklus I pertemuan pertama memperoleh persentase sebesar 57,1% untuk motivasi dan 47,9% untuk aktivitas belajar dengan kategori “rendah”, sedangkan pada siklus I pertemuan kedua diperoleh persentase sebesar 62,1% untuk motivasi dan 55,0% untuk aktivitas belajar dengan kategori “sedang” dengan peningkatan sebanyak 5% dan 7%. Pada Siklus II pertemuan pertama diperoleh persentase sebesar 66,2% untuk motivasi dan 64,7% untuk aktivitas belajar peserta didik dengan kategori “sedang” dengan peningkatan sebesar 4,1% dan 9,7% dan untuk siklus II pertemuan kedua diperoleh sebesar 70,1% untuk motivasi dan 69,8% untuk aktivitas belajar dengan kategori “sedang” dengan peningkatan 3,9% dan 5,1%. Pada Siklus III pertemuan pertama diperoleh persentase sebesar 72,8% dan 73,6% dengan kategori “tinggi” dimana terjadi peningkatan sebanyak 2,7% untuk motivasi dan 3,8% untuk aktivitas belajar. Hasil penelitian pada siklus III pertemuan kedua telah mencapai persentase pemerolehan indikator keberhasilan yaitu 76,9% dan 77,2% dengan selisih 4,1% dan 3,6%. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran talking stick pada muatan IPA Kelas VI dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan aktivitas belajar peserta didik kelas VI SDN 79/IV Kota Jambi. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan terjadinya peningkatan tiap indikator motivasi belajar pada tiap siklus pertemuannya. This research aims to describe the application of the learning model Talking Stick can increase students' motivation and activity in class VI science content at SDN 79/IV Jambi City. Research results after using the learning model talking stick Science content can increase students' motivation and learning activities. This is because students experience increased motivation and learning activities by paying attention to indicators of students' motivation and learning activities in learning activities which can be seen in each meeting cycle. The results of the research in the first cycle of the first meeting obtained a percentage of 57.1% for motivation and 47.9% for learning activities in the "low" category, while in the first cycle of the second meeting the percentage was 62.1% for motivation and 55.0%. % for learning activities in the "medium" category with an increase of 5% and 7%. In Cycle II of the first meeting, the percentage obtained was 66.2% for motivation and 64.7% for student learning activities in the "medium" category with an increase of 4.1% and 9.7% and for the second cycle of the second meeting it was obtained at 70 .1% for motivation and 69.8% for learning activities in the "medium" category with an increase of 3.9% and 5.1%. In Cycle III of the first meeting, the percentages obtained were 72.8% and 73.6% in the "high" category, where there was an increase of 2.7% for motivation and 3.8% for learning activities. The results of the research in cycle III of the second meeting had achieved a percentage of success indicators obtained, namely 76.9% and 77.2% with a difference of 4.1% and 3.6%. The results of this research can be concluded that the use of learning models talking stick in Class VI science content can increase the motivation and learning activities of class VI students at SDN 79/IV Jambi City.
