Siti Robiqoh, A1B218030. “Experimental Research Using Flash Cards in Learning Vocabulary at First Grade in Junior High School Nur-Ma’arif, Jambi City”. A Thesis. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Jambi University. Key words: Vocabulary, Flash Cards, Treatment Class This research examines the use of flashcards in teaching English. With these flashcards, it is hoped that it will continue to increase students' ease in knowing and memorizing English vocabulary easily. Flashcards are an effective and easy to use medium, because students do not need other media such as cellphones. Like this research, where researchers conducted research at MTs Nur-Ma'arif which is an Islamic boarding school, where the regulations there do not allow students to use cell phones. This research aims to determine the effect of using flash cards in English language teaching. The populations taken were grade 7 students at MTs Nur-Ma'arif, and the subjects were grade 7 A students at MTs Nur-Ma'arif. This research only uses one class. This research is Quasi Experimental research, where this research takes place by giving Pre-Test questions then carrying out treatment using flash cards, then closing by giving Post-Test questions to students. The results of this study can be concluded that there is an increase in student scores before and after using flashcards. So it can be concluded that flashcards are effective in learning English vocabulary. The calculation of validation test data was carried out on class 7 C which has almost the same ability as class 7 A and is assisted by using SPSS.
