Abstract
Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa dalam pemecahan masalah matematika khususnya pada materi bentuk aljabar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa dalam pemecahan masalah matematika berdasarkan self regulation materi bentuk aljabar di kelas VIIA SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen utama dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti serta instrumen pendukung berupa angket self regulation, lembar tes soal kemampuan penalaran matematis dalam pemecahan masalah matematika, dan pedoman wawancara. Keabsahan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan suatu kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil angket dan tes soal kemampuan penalaran matematis dalam pemecahan masalah yang telah dilakukan kepada siswa kelas VII A SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan tingkat self regulation tinggi memenuhi semua indikator kemampuan penalaran matematis yaitu menyajikan pernyataan matematika, manipulasi matematika, memeriksa kesahihan suatu argumen, dan menarik kesimpulan dari pernyataan. Sedangkan siswa dengan tingkat self regulation sedang pertama mampu memenuhi indiktor penalaran matematis yaitu menyajikan pernyataan matematika, manipulasi matematika, memeriksa kesahihan suatu argumen, dan menarik kesimpulan dari pernyataan sedangkan siswa self regulation sedang kedua mampu memenuhi indikator menyajikan pernyataan matematika. Siswa dengan tingkat self regulation rendah tidak mampu memenuhi semua indikator penalaran matematis yaitu tidak mampu menyajikan pernyataan matematika, tidak mampu manipulasi matematika, tidak mampu memeriksa kesahihan suatu argumen, dan tidak mampu menarik kesimpulan. The research is motivated by the low mathematical reasoning ability of students in solving mathematical problems, especially in algebraic forms. This study aims to describe and analyze students' mathematical reasoning ability in solving mathematical problems based on self-regulation of algebraic forms in class VIIA of SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The main instrument in this study is the researcher and supporting instruments in the form of a self-regulation questionnaire, a test sheet of mathematical reasoning ability questions in solving mathematical problems, and interview guidelines. The validity of the data in this study uses source triangulation and technical triangulation. Data analysis is carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing a conclusion. Based on the results of the questionnaire and test questions on mathematical reasoning ability in problem solving that have been administered to class VII A students of SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi, this study shows that students with a high level of self-regulation fulfill all indicators of mathematical reasoning ability, namely presenting mathematical statements, mathematical manipulation, checking the validity of an argument, and drawing conclusions from statements. Meanwhile, students with a moderate level of self-regulation were first able to fulfill the indicators of mathematical reasoning, namely presenting mathematical statements, mathematical manipulation, checking the validity of an argument, and drawing conclusions from statements, while students with moderate self-regulation were second able to fulfill the indicators of presenting mathematical statements. Students with a low level of self-regulation were unable to fulfill all the indicators of mathematical reasoning, namely not being able to present mathematical statements, not being able to manipulate mathematics, not being able to check the validity of an argument, and not being able to draw conclusions.
