Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan media Counting Box pada pembelajaran matematika untuk meningkatan kemampuan berhitung permulaan siswa kelas IC SDN 55/1 Sridadi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SDN 55/1 Sridadi, Kecamatan Muara Bulian, Kabupaten Batang Hari, pada kelas IC. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dengan cara observasi, tes, dan wawancara. Setelah itu data di analisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dengan empat tahapan yaitu tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan media Counting Box pada muatan matematika mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung permulaan siswa. Pada kondisi awal nilai rata-rata peserta didik Adalah 33,3%. Hasil dari penelitian pada siklus I pertemuan pertama memperoleh persentase sebesar 46,7% dengan kategori “Rendah”, sedangkan pada siklus 1 pertemuan kedua diperoleh persentase sebesar 66,7% kategori “Sedang” dengan peningkatan sebanyak 19%. Pada siklus II pertemuan pertama diperoleh persentase sebesar 71,4% dengan kategori “Tinggi” dimana terjadi peningkatan sebesar 4,7 %, dan untuk siklus II pertemuan kedua diperoleh persentase sebesar 81% berada pada kategori “Tinggi” dengan peningkatan sebesar 9,6%. Hasil penelitian pada siklus II pertemuan kedua telah mencapai persentase pemeroleham indikator keberhasilan, yaitu > 75% dengan selisih dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 34,3%. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan media Counting Box pada muatan matematika dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung permulaan siswa kelas IC SDN 55/1 Sridadi. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan terjadinya peningkatan kemampuan berhitung permulaan pada tiap siklus pertemuannya. This study aims to describe the application of the Problem Based Learning model with the help of Counting Box media in mathematics learning to improve the initial counting ability of students in class IC SDN 55/1 Sridadi. This research was conducted at SDN 55/1 Sridadi, Muara Bulian District, Batang Hari Regency, in class IC. The form of this research is classroom action research. The data was obtained by means of observation, tests, and interviews. After that the data was analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. This research was conducted in two cycles, with four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of the study by applying the Problem Based Learning learning model assisted by Counting Box media in math content were able to improve students' initial counting skills. In the initial condition, the average value of students is 33.3%. The results of the research in cycle I, the first meeting obtained a percentage of 46.7% in the "Low" category, while in cycle 1, the second meeting obtained a percentage of 66.7% in the "Medium" category with an increase of 19%. In cycle II, the first meeting obtained a percentage of 71.4% in the "High" category where there was an increase of 4.7%, and for cycle II, the second meeting obtained a percentage of 81% in the "High" category with an increase of 9.6%. The results of the research in the second meeting of cycle II have reached the percentage of success indicators, which is> 75% with a difference from cycle I to cycle II of 34.3%. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model assisted by Counting Box media in mathematics content can improve the ability to count the beginning of students in class IC SDN 55/1 Sridadi. This is evidenced by the increase in the ability of beginning counting in each cycle of meetings.
