Abstract

In an era of increasingly fierce business competition, information technology plays a crucial role in enhancing a company's competitiveness. PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VI (PTPN VI), engaged in palm oil plantations and other commodities, requires an efficient employee performance monitoring system. Currently, monitoring is conducted through daily reports and communication via WhatsApp, which are prone to inaccuracies and the risk of overlooked reports. To address these issues, this research aims to design a mobile application "Lacak" (Lihat Ancak) using the User-Centered Design (UCD) method. This application aims to facilitate managers in monitoring maintenance, fertilization, and harvesting activities on plantations, thereby supporting operational efficiency and the company's sustainability. The UCD method was chosen for its focus on user involvement, which is expected to produce a design that meets user needs and increases system acceptance. This research follows the UCD stages, which include understanding the context of use, specifying user requirements, designing solutions, and evaluating the design against user needs. With good UI/UX design, the application is expected to improve the process of monitoring employee performance effectively and efficiently. The results of this research are expected to make a tangible contribution to overcoming monitoring challenges at PTPN VI and supporting the company's sustainability goals.
