Skripsi, Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia Jurusan Pendidikan Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Jambi. Pembimbing (I) Dr. Drs. Harizon, M. Si. (II) Drs. Fuldiaratman, M. Pd. Kata Kunci : Handout, Kontekstual, Asam Basa. Handout merupakan suatu bahan ajar tertulis atau cetak yang disediakan oleh pendidik kepada peserta didik untuk memperkaya pengetahuan siswa. Bahan ajar berupa handout pada materi asam basa ini berbasis kontekstual. Pendekatan kontekstual adalah konsep belajar yang membantu guru mengaitkan materi pelajaran dalam konteks yang nyata dan relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pengembangan handout berbasis kontekstual berdasarkan model pengembangan Lee & Owens, mengetahui kelayakan atas penggunaan handout berbasis kontekstual pada materi asam basa menurut ahli media dan ahli materi, mengetahui penilaian pendidik dan respon peserta didik terhadap handout berbasis kontekstual. Penelitian ini merupakan penellitian pengembangan menggunakan model pengembangan Lee & Owens dan hanya dilakukan sebatas uji coba kelompok kecil. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa lembar pedoman wawancara dan angket kebutuhan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis data kualitatif (komentar dan saran) dan analisis data kuantitatif (skor jawaban dan persentase). Hasil dari penilaian ini didapatkan rerata skor oleh ahli materi sebesar 4,5 dengan kategori “sangat layak” dan rerata skor ahli media sebesar 4,4 dengan kategori “sangat layak”. Selanjutnya hasil penilaian guru bidang studi kimia memberikan komentar secara keseluruhan bahwa bahan ajar handout sudah bagus dan didapatkan rerata skor sebesar 4,6 dengan kategori “sangat layak”, dan memperoleh persentase respon peserta didik sebesar 82% dengan kategori “sangat baik”. Berdasarkan pengembangan dan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa handout berbasis kontekstual sudah layak digunakan sebagai salah satu bahan ajar dalam pembelajaran kimia berdasarkan validasi ahli dan penilaian guru. Abstract Handouts are written or printed teaching materials provided by educators to students to enrich students' knowledge. Teaching materials in the form of handouts on acid and base material are contextually based. The contextual approach is a learning concept that helps teachers relate lesson material in a real context and is relevant to everyday life. This research aims to determine the process of developing contextual-based handouts based on the Lee & Owens development model, determine the feasibility of using contextual-based handouts on acid-base material according to media experts and material experts, and determine educators' assessments and students' responses to contextual-based handouts. This research is development research using the Lee & Owens development model and was only carried out as a small group trial. The research instruments used were interview guide sheets and needs questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used are qualitative data analysis (comments and suggestions) and quantitative data analysis (answer scores and percentages). The results of this assessment showed that the average score by material experts was 4.5 in the "very appropriate" category and the average score for media experts was 4.4 in the "very appropriate" category. Furthermore, the results of the chemistry study teacher's assessment provided an overall comment that the handout teaching materials were good and obtained an average score of 4.6 in the "very appropriate" category, and obtained a percentage of student responses of 82% in the "very good" category. Based on the development and research results, it can be concluded that contextual-based handouts are suitable for use as teaching materials in chemistry learning based on expert validation and teacher assessment.
